I'm not weighing into this one way or the other, I'm just wondering why people trust his word when so many of the supposed ITKs on this website are basically just throwing darts at a dartboard hoping something sticks, or making shit up that people can't strictly disprove. Not saying he's a liar, just not understanding what makes him different

It's been addressed in this thread already, but to shed a bit more light Soapy first mentioned he was Lachie O'Brien's uncle prior to him being drafted (probably around mid 2017) when the Carlton board were discussing prospects, pinning him as a potential first round pick. Obviously LOB then gets drafted to Carlton, and Soapy is over the moon.
I know most ITK's aren't reliable, but there's a clear link with Soapy and the club.
IIRC Nick Robertson's old man used to post on the Brisbane board quite frequently, and tt's a similar situation with Soapy.

Been doing well and they have been holding him back. I’m a bit surprised he’s picked as it wasn’t the plan but happy. He’s never been fitter. 2021 is still his target
Dow likely to be rested for rest of season as knee still an issue from early in the season
i was harsh on dow in his return game, but that explains it, kid has been troubled by injuries for 2 years now it seems.
IMO shouldn’t have played but that’s just my take. Another pre season and he will be a good player
I'd say the best way to avoid sunk cost fallacy with top draft picks who have underperformed would be to ask yourself if you would keep the player is he was a pick 40 or whatever pick is about mid point in the draft on what you've seen so far
