Watched the replay.
Aartsy did some gutsy work backing into the pack, corralling defenders, clearing the way for Riewoldt to leap and mark.
When there are three or four players surging to take a pack mark, and you are mid-sized, it takes guts to do that.

Richmond’s Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge provides Richmond Media with the latest injury report, brought to you by Victor Sports.

Ivan Soldo, ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and medial ligament
“Really disappointing for the big fella, he’s going to be out for an extended period of time. He is seeing the surgeon this week and he will have surgery over the coming weeks, possibly up here on the Gold Coast.
“It’s obviously disappointing for Ivan, he was having such a great year. We will start his rehabilitation process over the coming weeks after his surgery.”

Tom Lynch, hamstring
“Tom had a very minor incident out on the far wing of the ground. He has never had a hamstring strain before, so he came to the bench saying he thinks he cramped, or something maybe a little bit worse than that.
“We did a little bit of testing and he had a little bit of a tiny nick in the hamstring, and scans have shown the same result. But it is on the minor end of the scale.
“He did some strides today running at about 50-60 per cent and had minimal awareness, so we are feeling pretty good about where that’s going to end up over the next week.”

pOcZYXTV.jpg

Dion Prestia, ankle

“Dion’s going really well. Dion’s clocking up some kilometers, and running at a really good speed, at high speed and borderline sprint at the moment.
“He will introduce in some football skills later this week and we are planning to obviously increase that next week, and hoping if all goes well to play (him in) some sort of scrimmage practice in the bye week between the last game and the finals.”

IMG_6484.jpg

Shane Edwards
“Shane was great today. Shane’s in great shape; he has had a long pre-season back in Melbourne and then two weeks in the quarantine hub training with the boys from the other clubs.
“He’s raring to go, he is desperate to play, and providing he has a good week of training with us, then he will be available for selection on the weekend.”

David Astbury, knee
“David played 48 minutes in the scrimmage against Geelong on Saturday ... and it went really well.

“He is available this week for selection, whether that’s AFL or scrimmage, that’s up to the coaching group. He just needs to have another really good week of training and then we will assess his availability from there.”

Didn’t realise Dion was that close. Great news

How late in the season are we willing to bring back prestia for his first game? I love him as a player, but if his first game back from essentially the whole season off is the GF or PF do we still bring him in if the midfield is firing?

I think he'll be ready by the 1st final, dimma said he will play in a scrimmage game on the bye weekend before finals, hypothetically speaking if he didn't play the first final couldn't see it being any later than our 2nd final.

Purchased a guernsey from the club store.
The yellow clash top with Premiers seal.
The club will be suffering lower revenues due to the crisis.
Want to ensure our club remains the wealthiest in the land.
I purchased the home one the other day, hoping to get it in time for sat so I can wear it like a nuffy lol

Big gamble to play prestia off managed minutes in a scrimmage game
That's what I'm concerned for too.
Other lads have been working hard to stay in the team.
They'll be looking at all planning scenarios.
The elite multi-premiership teams can cover for a player even as brilliant as Prestia.

I bought a $200 ticket in the Fighting Tiger Fund raffle for the same reason.
They're still on sale if anyone's interested.

Good to purchase merchandise, tickets, and so on.
It's not every day that you win a premiership.
Healthy stable finances will ensure our club is in good stead for years to come.

I think we have to play Prestia in a QF. No doubt it’s a risk but I still feel Prestia at 90% is better than our 22nd player.

It could definitely backfire but I’d lean towards taking the risk. If he gets through without drama you’d think he’s right for the remaining finals.
Yes. That's a good point, if he pulls up sore, he can't play. We can't do a Davis.

I think that's the best course of action, as if he gets through the game he'll be in much better condition for a PF than if that's he's first game. Also if he's not fit and aggravates it the added rehab will be during the off-season so less of a loss for us (provided it's not horrific). If we're good enough to get to a PF or GF I don't think that's when you take gambles
