When Arsenal beat Leicester it kicked the door open for both Arsenal and Tottenham to win the title. From there on both of those clubs went on to lose games they shouldn’t have lost and put themselves out of the race.
At that point, still would have won 10 of the last 12 to win. Leicester were brilliant in the run in. It would have taken an amazing run to beat them

We absolutely bottled 2nd place though

Get players in to help win trophies or secure CL football >>>> Replacing Kane.

If upgrading LB and adding Bale achieves that then money well spent

If you can achieve that, then well played. United’s LB signing (if we make one) will need to be at the club for years. That’s why the backpack clause was a put off.

Leicester were flying at the time. Won like four or five games 1-0 in a short stretch..beat the gunners at the Emirates and city at the Etihad. Hard to accuse spurs of bottling it. Everything fell for Leicester that year.

Its so f’ed I can't even think of where to begin.

We need a gun CB first off. Toby is on his last legs. Dier & Sanchez not world class at all.

We're heavy on CMs but none are really that good apart from Lo Celso who is brittle as fu**. NDombele has the talent but has the fitness levels of an amateur

We also need a ST who can play with Kane or lead the line on his own to give Kane a rest.

Belotti would be the most important signing of the 3 and he is the least likely.
Dias/Konate/Upamecano - one or two would be quite nice
I think in the middle we need to settle on a formation and then trial what we have.
Belotti would be nice as a striker but seems unlikely. feels like a rumour to placate fans baying at the doors

We could have won every single game and not got within 3 points of them

When we were actually really good we had one of the best in the league across all lines. Lloris, Toby, Dembele, Eriksen & Kane were as good as any of their opponents in their positions back then. Now apart from Kane we dont have anyone even in discussion that is best in the competition, maybe Son in that AM/W spot too actually. But nowhere near in CM or CB and then Hugo's declined a little now.

I think people are saying Arsenal and Spurs bottled that season because Lecieter finished on 81 points and that was seen as “low”. It’s actually a higher points total that 5 league winnings since 1997 and 5 points off City’s only two seasons before. The average to win the PL is apparently 86 points and that includes the last 4 seasons of 93, 100, 98, and 99 points. It’s totally unfair on Leicester City, Arsenal and Spurs to say that the latter two bottled it. Leicester didn’t win the league by mistake or some wild crap like that, lol.

3 behind and from that moment Leicester scored 24 of the available 30 points. Would have meant we would have had to won 9 of the last 10 to win it

Leicester drew 4 and won 6 out of the last 10. 22 out of 30 points. You just needed to better their results and the title was yours. Huge opportunity missed.

Like i said that, link shows 7 wins and 3 draws in the last 10(24 points), 8 wins 4 draws in the last 12(28 points). The last game was drawn after they had won the title as well.
Given that we were already behind we would have needed an extra win, it would have needed an enormous run home to surpass them.
We bottled 2nd spot that year but Leicester were too good for the last 3 months.

To bottle it you've got to have lead it at some point or thrown away chances to take the lead. Neither happened that season

Seems odd to pay 25m on sess and loan him out...
I didn't want him. Not good enough as a defender to warrant the fee and won't play for us as LW over Son.
Also, there are always winners and losers when you change coaches.

It was a Levy buy imo as he'd likely have decent re-sale value.

United in 2011/12 and Liverpool in 13/14 were the bottle jobs of the last decade

Winning 12, drawing 1 and losing 1 out of the last 14 games is not a bottle job in the slightest. 14 wins out of 14 was needed to win that title. Very few teams have ever won that many in a row.
