Have been watching the All-Star game and i must say that Alwyn Davey looks ready made and as so he will have an impact like his brother did in his debut year. And Jetta (wearing 40 tonight) moves beautifully and although seems a little bit away would still have an impact in 07 if played. He is very smooth and when he has touched the ball it has turned to gold.

Some real good signs for your mob tonight :thumbsu:

Also Patty Ryder looks more comfortable in the ruck.
 
Yeah he has been great...don't you mean Charters lol. Commentators are idiots.

He was super impressive. Highlight of the night for me.

Lonergan looked good early and I loved Bachar's one handed pick ups.

Hopefully it's a sign we're having a crack this pre season for a change.

Davey was fantstic tonight i must say, the amount of time's i saw him come out of a contested situation with the ball, i lost count.
His skills are silky, his one hands pickup's excited every Essendon supporter watching the match.
And to top things off, his running goal from 40m out, straight through the big sticks at mid post height!
He looks like he can hold down a regular spot in 07/08.
I'm Bloody Excited by what i saw tonight from not just Davey, but from all the boys!
 
Pev looked like he just wasn't in the right position to get the ball...
When he did get the ball he was under extreme pressure and looked rushed.
But He'll find some form as the season unfolds.

I'm glad someone saw that. I felt he was really composed and solid down back. I was most impressed with his game. Players like slatts tend to be forgotten in the highlights.

Jetta's delivery into the forward line was very exciting also.

From what I saw of Pev late in the game, he linked up well and hit his targets. Not as flashy as some of his teammates, but I wouldnt say it was his worst. Theres still a spot for him IMO.
 
The radio guys kept calling Davey Froggy.

He's definitely part of our new look back 6. Very happy with Big Mal also. Signs are good with our composure. Lonergan was a standout for me. On that performance, particularly in the 3rd quarter, he'd demand a spot in our starting lineup.

Yeah, they all certainly looked like they could bring something special to the game. Ryder looks an improved type. Would have to be our number 2 ahead of Laycock at the minute.

He started the game rubbish, did a few nice things as the game wore on.
Maybe because the sting was out of the game.

Well, I wouldnt place my trust in all our kids just yet, so based on that Pev should still figure in our rotations until they develop their disposal and decision making.

I agree.
I didn't say that Pev was out of the team because the draftees all played impressive games and he didn't.
IMO, Pev or Bolton (who didn't get much game time) were our worst players for the night.

Did anyone notice Lovett not exactly look like he wanted to be part of the occasion. Maybe its just me, but he shows almost no emotion or somewhat disinterested. Just on some occasions when they showed the team together in the huddle, I got that impression.

What side was Lovett on tonight?

All Stars. Wouldnt say he had a great impact on the game. Some bursts out of HB/middle...just something didnt look right about him when the camera panned across their huddle. Maybe Im over anaylsing something small...but I had to mention it.

btw where do you guys think you will fit all these players such as Jetta, Davey, Houli along with similar type players such as Lovett and Lovett- murray and monfries (while he is still unable to be big enough for the midfield.)

I thought Lovett was very hard at it when around the contest early on. Early days. Very talented boy. Houli looks the real deal, we all know Jetta can play, we've all heard about Davey, and i suppose anyone who follows the 18's knows Houli, but from where he went in the draft he is an absolute steal. I could see him playing many games in 07. Big, strong, quick, composed and his skills are good. The thing about Houli in 07 is that he is already built like a 10 year veteran.

Davey just moves like his brother. Everytime he had the ball in his hands it was like Aaron in a different guernsey.

It brings a nice change to the usual opposition idiots we get here bragging about their club and showing Essendon disrespect.
