Some prescient thoughts from Huxley

He hit the nail on the head when he predicted some people might love their slavery and be happy under the new regime

He spent a bit of time talking about advertising.

This is not Huxley's quote, but it's pertinent.

"People loathe a void. When they encounter gaps in the information they’re receiving they have a stunning tendency to fill in those gaps with their own ideas.

Based on ill-formed intuition, soggy critical thinking, and flawed belief systems that defy reality."

When I went to Propaganda School, they taught us to 'Strive for the temporary suspension of disbelief' so we could influence the mark in our allotted 30 seconds.

I didn't get the memo, but it seems they bypassed all that nonsense and instead worked out how to instill, encourage and nurture ill-formed intuition, soggy critical thinking, and flawed belief systems (They call it an Arts Degree these days)

They also discovered how to wipe out that antidote to bad ideas called buyers remorse.

This is why we have a significant group of people who believe men can menstruate.
