The game is too taxing for more games I'd rather full game time reinstated, play everyone once and a longer finals series somehow.

I know this is never gonna happen because it cuts home games & would hurt clubs financially, although perhaps crystal balling there could be 4 to 6 new clubs around the country when we are all brown bread down the track & it would work.

This one always makes me laugh!

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire has rubbished claims Jordan De Goey has been permitted to continue to play AFL football due to his talent and marquee status, labelling the suggestion as ā€œa bit of a cheap shotā€.

McGuire said Taylorā€™s predicament was a ā€œdifferent situationā€ and one for the Swans to comment on.

Speaking from notes for the first time about the De Goey scenario, McGuire told Channel 9ā€™s Footy Classified Collingwood was taking the matter ā€œabsolutely seriouslyā€.

Responding to an article written in The Australian, McGuire said claims De Goey had been allowed to continue playing because heā€™s a ā€œgood playerā€ was ā€œnot something that even enters our mindā€.

The individual was also encouraged to contact the police. The issue was resolved in 2018, seemingly to the satisfaction of everyone involved.

ā€œNow at this point, we are unsure why the matter has resurfaced and we are awaiting further information and this information has not been forthcoming.ā€

Does it? I mean it's not like it's not one of if not the most taxing team sports on the planet (in it's usual game time) in a world where sports like NFL have only 16 game regular seasons or anything... please don't bring up any non contact sports.

Compare what Rockliff does to a linebacker?

What Dixon does to a league second row? 30 games
What R.Gray does to Messi in terms of games? etc. etc.

You are falling for the AFLPA hype and the narrow Australian view of their indigenous 'super tough' sport.

You only need to look at the shape some of them have been allowed to get in this season to see the fallacy in this!

When you add in massive numbers of rotations it looks even dafter.

Footy is a tough game, but they can play way more games than they currently do. The number has barely changed since semi pro-days.

not to mention the large number of squad players that get little to no game time!

Fat pricks that stop every five seconds & runners that never face real physical threat.

Disappointing, but I suppose he's not going to say much else in public. At least he stopped short of saying how proud he was. AFL media couldn't stop gushing on the weekend.
