yeh, its like he threw the gameplan out as soon as the fight started. maybe Izzy just has that effect on these fighters idk. But the only way you are going to beat him is with heavy pressure and get him against the cage.

He's athletically and technically gifted, and contrary to his beliefs media def pump his tyres....never understood it.

Costa bottled that though, should have started hot early than s**t talking through the fight.

Hopefully one day Izzy will get humbled.

I don't know if anyone in the UFC can currently. Appears to be at his prime and hasn't really fought anyone who has challenged him on the feet. You'd probably say Gastelum has done the best in the striking department against him.

Costa being more aggressive would have just ended in him being countered. Still would have been a better option than whatever the hell he just did.

Stylebender is technically the best striker in the middleweight division with supreme distance control and the ability to read his opponents movement. With Costas left leg busted up there was very little opportunity for him to get inside. It was simply a Masterclass.

I'm guessing he was hoping to bank some early rounds with some kicks and save his gas tank for later. I think that's the real ****ed dilemma for anyone facing Adesanya, do you want into his counter or be patient?

yeh i get that. He just seemed so tentative and scared to swing. You win some, you lose some. Definitely could have adopted a better strategy though.
