Yes forward structure, leading patterns, space for Naughton. It’s a totally different forward line (and a better one with him in it)...
In theory. Schache has also played 2 of worst games in terms of effort I’ve ever seen from a Dogs player. One last year when he got dropped for a long time, one this year and the same happened. The issue is so concerning Chris Grant recently gave an interview calling it out publicly.

I don’t think the coaches are sitting around lamenting losing a close one. They would know just as well as the rest of us that we were miles off it today.

Knowing it internally and publicly drawing a line in the sand are two different things.

One means no hard questions get asked and the same thing can keep happening while the other invites the necessary public pressure internal and external to force change.

Do we need a letter writing petition in order to insist on a genuine ruck option. I’ve said It before but I think Timmy is more a CHF/FF than ruck . Our time is limited and I believe we need to go all in now over the next couple of years to make the most of it . And Perhaps the most high profile recruit this offseason should be a new forwards coach

Schache is as soft or even softer then Lipinski

He will not help in finals in anyway

There’s certain structures that have been in place in Aussie Rules for time immemorial

Bevo thought he could change some of those rules

The problem was, the other coaches disagreed

And some rules of physics e.g speed gravity acceleration mass cannot easily be changed

except in black holes or particle accelerators

And sh*t list management.

Was Bruce our only specialist forward this afternoon?

Our forward line is bottom 4 material in terms of how it functions.
Who apart from Bruce is a forward first then something else?

On another note Cordy was missed when he went off injured.

Easton wood was terrible tonite. If he doesn’t dominate the air, he’s no use to us.

I have no idea why we gave him a two year contract. He’s been a great servant, but he’s at the point where he should be on rolling one year contracts.

The 3 points was the difference, and that happened because Hunter missed. Wallis missed. Smith missed. Richards missed. Mcrae, Bont clanger when he shoulda done a lot better. The sole point of the ruck is to give your mids opportnity to give your forwards an opportunity to kick goals. At least 5 opportunities were butchered. And we lost by 3 points.

The set shots from Smith and Hunter were bad misses, no question.

But things like that can happen.

If you look at the game as a whole the clear difference was Ryder and English.

Losing by a close margin means nothing will change. If we were thrashed then it would’ve forced Bevos hand (directly or indirectly) to make some changes. We’ll keep rolling along to a broken game plan while possessing some of the best midfielders in the modern game.
My fear is that some clubs that aren’t taking the piss will come knocking. I always thought this group was protected by a unique level of loyalty. We’ve moved on those we didn’t think fit in but I wouldn’t be surprised if the likes of Macrea or someone of his calibre says * it, I am tired of this bull s**t.

Lol why?

Because he plays the two ruckman he has? Other than that what has he done?

Over rated, the Saints won’t play finals next year
Oh i dunno, maybe that he has ball movement and a forward structure that constantly generates easy goals out the back, has a defensive setup allowing easy outnumber and intercept marks while preventing easy goals out the back, ruck dominance, managed to exploit direct matchups where they had size advantages. What more could you ask for from a coach?

People won’t like it but I’d be happy to trade McRae for something really good.

One of the least effective 30 possie a game footy players ever.

Not that it would happen but for example Gawn

I also don’t mean to flog a dead horse and single out a whipping boy.

I also have given credit to Ryan Gardner for his improvement during the season and being reasonably solid during the latter part of the year.

But inasmuch as you can single out Hunter and Smith’s missed shots as crucial (and they were), Gardner’s needless turnover late in the 2nd quarter that led to a St Kilda goal was also very crucial.
