This is for ghostdog :p

All about that 2021 draft

Joe band 1 (7)
Saad for FC 2021 1st
Merrett and 2021 2nd for Hawks 4 and 2021 1st
Our 6 for dogs 12 and 2021 1st (No deficit for JUH)
Raz for Crows 29
Cats want a flag and are keen on Higgins I’d offer Them Shiel and we pay part of his wage they’ll jump at him. Take pick 15 2021 1st
12 for Pies 1st helps them with their academy player
15 for the Eagles 2021 1st gets them back into the 1st round

2020 4, 7, 29, 42
2021 Our 1st, Blues 1st, Cats 1st, Dogs 1st, Hawks 1st, Pies 1st, Eagles 1st

Gives us 12 months to really develop a list strategy. Also get 2 really good picks this year.
I genuinely think we need something drastic to change, what I’ve suggested above would be the most aggressive rebuild in history but it might be what we need to do?
That is a fantastic effort!

You are right but the odds lean my way I reckon quite significantly
i also think there is a philosophical element to this.
we have forgotten how to go to the draft and develop our own young players a bit. Ridley is one that we have developed with a pick in the 20s.
if gws want a pic in the 40s for ohalloran fair enough- in another thread I suggested maybe brodie and wright for a second round pick next year but watching this weeks final I have concluded we are way off the pace and rutten probably deserves kids he can nurture and develop

Depends who stays and who goes

If you only lose McKenna and Fantasia then I think our age bracket of our best 22 is 2-3 years away.

If we lose JoeD and Saad on top of that and continue a poor injury run then we are a way off if a replacement cant have an immediate impact isn't made.

I'd be absolutely taking Wright and Brodie for a 2nd rounder. I doubt GC would

What would be be better value for the bombers?
cam Rayner and Brisbane’s first pick for Daniher?
or free agency compensation pick 7 which will turn to about pick 10?
not really relevant but dodoro not taking the deal on offer last year was a monumental error.

Take the FA compensation - Rayner is not that good.

It's very rare a 20yr old Hallorahan or Ely Smith are going to make a significant impact for our club until 4-5 years on. It takes big inside mids plenty of time to build up a hardened body to compete against JPK, Cripps, Fyfe, Yeo, Pendles, Steele, Petracca, Oliver, Neale, Lyons, Danger, Parker, Dusty ECT

If I remember correctly Hallorahan is a half forward aswell. I'm sure Dodo gets crucify for doing this by those suggesting exactly so

Steele hasn't had a significant impact til this year on his club. He's been a great soldier beforehand and more than handy but we are asking for big influence that Steele has provided this year.

He's 24/25 this year

If JD goes to Brisbane then you may be able to pry McStay out of Brisbane and you play him as a key defender.

No. Just no.

If you lose Joe you need a key forward or a big body mid.

Would we not have

Hurley
Hooker
Ambrose
BZT
Francis
McBride
Jeka
C.Brand

All as key talls on the list for next year? Plus Ridley who's very capable in a few years time of playing the Grimes role if worse case scenario hit with the 8 above

more than half those guys have been gun inside since 21.

Yeo no
JPK no
Steele no
Danger no
Lyons no
Petracca no
Dusty no

And we're talking about the elite of elite in the comp

It takes them time. I'm not saying to not draft one. I'm saying do both if you can.

I think Will Brodie is absolutely worth a crack but we'd have to just play him inside every week from the start.

Brodie is an elite Contested ball winner, clearance player and a huge midfielder. 3 boxes we need ticked the most

And what's even better is it doesn't appear you'd have to pay through the roof for him right now. Buying low.

Imagine going into a season with no big body mid or B grade (or better) key forward on your list but keep your job as list manager..

Now quietly peer into the offices of Tullamarine and say hello to Adrian Dodoro continuing to search for that flanker we can successfully transition into a mid

Actually, according to Stats Pro, Brodie is only an average CP winner and was below average this season. He is ranked as elite for clearances but was only above average this season. You've embellished with your description.

And how many games this year is that based from exactly?

Let me know how he went in his 8 games the year before when he actually got full inside time

Brodie is a concern, not seeing a lot of games across 4 seasons.
And it's not like it's a Geel/Bris/Rich situation where there is a lot of depth over that time keeping him out.

I'd be doing a lot of homework if we approached.

I get why Smith & RCD aren't getting games.
O'Halloran, Constable, etc. much the same..
