Anyone else get confused when purchasing QF tickets through ticketek? There were two options when I went in to select tickets, and couldn’t really work out what the difference was. One was adult ticket and the other was family but both options seemed the same in that you could select one ticket for each barcode.

So I just went with standard 2 adult tickets for my partner and I and they were both next to each other. Is the family what you need to select if you are trying to group multiple barcodes together?

I'm trying to get a group of guys 4 or 5 together but it is a mixture of priority 1 and 2 tickets, probably leaving things to pure luck/chance if i hold off on all until the priority 2 allocation.

I'm thinking it might be better off getting the priority 1 tickets through first, and then priority 2 next and splitting the group up in two.

I figured it might be hard to get a group of 4 or 5 together anyway?

Yeah it pissed me off.

Hi all, I have a 1 x priority 1 barcode that I am not using, I can not get to the game. If anyone DOESN'T have one and wants to go then shout out, happy to pass it onto someone who would not have been able to get a ticket otherwise.

No doubt in my mind if the crows were playing a home prelim, there would be huge media pressure on the govt from 5aa, chan 7 to get as many people there as possible.

mid they upped the crowd to over 30000 for this port game, we would get them carrying on about how they are putting football before health.

Hi Proman, i just sent you what i think was my first attempt at a private message on here.

From the first part of KT's email. Is there a bit of payback from SA Health after the embarrassing players parents exemption incident??

Dear Members and Supporters,

After the euphoria of the Qualifying Final win, this week feels a little like the calm before the storm.

A chance for the boys to re-charge their batteries, and the rest of us to get ourselves organized for the next phase of this monumental campaign.

The great news is that the on field team are all healthy and looking forward to another rousing Adelaide Oval reception in a week’s time.

Today the SMA announced that despite the Northern Mound being open to 600 patrons, SA Health has ruled that the stadium attendance had to remain capped at 50% for our Preliminary Final.

We’re disappointed that more of our members won’t have the opportunity to be at Adelaide Oval next Friday night. We were hopeful on the basis that a crowd of 31,000 had been part of the Government’s pitch for an Adelaide Oval AFL Grand Final and this game is only a week short of that date. At the same time, we appreciate that SA Health have a responsibility to all South Australians and have done an outstanding job in ensuring our state is in a far better position that most right now.
......

Off field, I know there are a few little issues that we need to update you on.

GF Ticketing info up on Port's website

How many tickets are provided to Competing Club members?

Based on a crowd of 30,000, each competing club will receive an allocation of 8,100 tickets.

Crowd capacity is still subject to change.

Who is eligible to purchase a Grand Final ticket?

Due to the reduced allocation of Grand Final tickets (8,100), we will not be able to offer our normal Grand Final guarantees for Club 1870, Black Diamond and Platinum members as our number of eligible members exceeds this allocation.

Eligible members will instead be allocated a Priority Group to purchase tickets.

What are the Priority Groups?

Priority Group 1 – Club 1870 members, Life Members (total eligible members 1,500)

Priority Group 2 – Black Diamond and Platinum members (total eligible members 10,500)

Priority Group 3 – Gold members (total eligible members 4,500)

All members must have pledged 100% of their membership to the Club in 2020 to be eligible.

When will tickets go on-sale?

On-sale dates are dependent on the competing teams. There are two possible on-sale dates –

Monday 19th October
  • Priority Group 1 – 11am – 1pm
  • Priority Group 2 – 2pm – 4pm
  • Priority Group 3 – 4pm-6pm
OR

Tuesday 20th October
  • Priority Group 1 – 11am – 1pm
  • Priority Group 2 – 2pm – 4pm
  • Priority Group 3 – 4pm-6pm

How much are the tickets?

How many tickets can I purchase?

Members can only purchase one (1) ticket per eligible barcode but can enter up to 6 barcodes per transaction to be allocated seating together.

Excellent.

Doesn't seem fair that members that don't aren't cat 1 or 2 have to battle it out with the general public, there should be some recognition of all membership status's, pi55ed off!!

I don't think any Port members will have to battle with the general because I think our allocation of 8,100 will be exhausted by the time the 3rd window for Gold members closes at 6pm on either Monday or Tuesday.

Can someone please confirm when GA goes on sale Monday - is it 1pm or 2pm?

Am wanting to buy additional non-member tickets!

Has anyone received an email from the club about tickets going on sale tomorrow? I was a priority 1 for the Geelong game but haven't heard anything about the prelim yet.

Yes, they are the same priorities. Same barcode.

Yes they were sent out about 9am Friday. Have you checked your junkmail box?

If you don't get it, don't panic it's all the same barcodes as has been used all season. There has not been any change between QF and PF priorities.

Amalgamating Black Diamond and Platinum is some bullshit.

How much is a black diamond membership per year?

I believe all membership prices were frozen for 2020, so they should be the same as 2019 prices. I know a concession Black Diamond membership cost $520 again this year. See the quoted post below for prices.

Club 1870 members pay in the order of 20% more than Black Diamond.
Black Diamond members pay in the order of 30% more than Platinum A and 40% more than Platinum B.

Based on the published priority groups, the hierarchy is determined, at least in part, by how much each membership category costs, but I think the club ought to be honouring, for as many entire membership categories as they are able, the GF guarantee members purchased in good faith, and were promised when pledging.

I assume the AFL has ruled that the club may only allocate members to three priority windows. It's clear that Club 1870 and Life Members deserve first crack. They've paid the most for their option, or earned their right through service to the club. Stick them in window 1, and sell up to 1,500 of our 8,100 allocated tickets. Easy. Done. 6,600 tickets remaining.

It's also clear that Gold members (who only get "priority access") should be assigned to window 3, and that no membership category with a GF guarantee should be assigned to this window. You'd be justifiably pissed off if your "guarantee" was usurped by a member who only pays for "priority access". In all likelihood, all 8,100 tickets will be gone by the time window 3 opens.

Per this press release from 2013, there are about 1,500 Black Diamond members. The club has ample capacity to honour the GF guarantee it promised to every Black Diamond member who pledged 100%. Further, guarantees for these members can be honoured without damaging the guarantee made to Club 1870 and Life Members. 1,500 tickets for Club 1870 + Life Members, plus another 1,500 for Black Diamond members. That would leave 5,100 tickets for Platinum and below.

Platinum members are in a shitty spot. Whether or not the club honours the guarantee for Black Diamond members, there aren't enough tickets to go around. Plainly, this sucks, and anyone who misses out on a guarantee they were promised when pledging should absolutely seek remedy from the club. But, if you were a Black Diamond member, wouldn't you be justifiably pissed off if your "guarantee" was trumped by a Platinum B member when your membership cost 40% more than theirs?

I know this is a hell of a lot of whinging when we haven't even made it to the Grand Final yet, but really.
