Thanks to the service of these two blokes! Can’t argue that they both didn’t do everything that they possibly could to contribute for the black and white. Both unfortunate with injury. All the best to them as they look to earn a spot elsewhere, and thank you for your contributions.

Surprised it’s only 2 at the moment. I’m hoping the others will be traded. We all know who we’re talking about as the boards say it over and over again.

Sad to see them both go. Understand how it happened but feel like this year they should have been given more of an opportunity this year. Considering how disappointing C Brown, WHE, Phillips and others have been, I consider them unlucky.

It's incredible to think that Scharenberg has spent 7 seasons on the list and people still cant spell his name. Handed a 1 ton anchor by Mark Williams - you have to wonder what the hell he was thinking at the time. He never looked anything more than a good footballer who had good composure. Broomhead also looked good at times, ironically in the period just before he broke his leg. I think he was kept on for so long to keep trust with the rest of the group that they wouldnt be thrown out the door if they got a major injury...that and he was a mate of brodie, wasnt he? That didnt hurt. Not that I'm disrespecting him, he could still have been on the list if he saw that pole coming. I dont think we've had higher profile players delisted since buckley's early years.

Would be hilarious if Grundy‘s coin cost Broomhead his spot on the list. That would maybe get the message through to the playing group.

I think the fact that he managed one game in the two years post leg break, against a wooden spoon side who at that point hadn’t looked like winning a game was probably the more likely cause.

The lack of VFL footy wouldn’t have helped anyone on the cusp this year because it removed the best mechanism we had to keep senior players accountable and to let them regain form but unfortunately with both I just don’t think he club saw enough positives in exposed form to persist.

I think Broomhead only survived this long because of his connection with Grundy.

Don’t think the reason 🧹 isn’t going to be on the lost has anything to do with money.

While not impossible, I doubt it. More likely the club probably felt it owed him an opportunity to prove his worth given the manner in which he’d injured himself in 2018 and his form pre-injury. I think the fact we carried him on the rookie list indicated the club probably saw it as a free hit and better option than a late prospect in a rookie draft.

Good luck to the boys.

Both players had so much potential but that's football on all counts. Geez I remember when Shaz got his 2nd knee injury, we all felt so so bad for the bloke ... such bad luck. And Broomy finally looked like he stepped up to his potential in 2018 before that gawd awful injury.

Sad to see two good guys cut but not surprised. My 12yo son has this weird connection with underdog players - his faves are always the battlers and in recent times Broomy has been his pet project. We talk about Broomy on a daily basis - whether he might be selected this week etc...or this week whether he will survive.

Can't say I am going to miss the daily chats but sad for him lol.

Unfortunately with the potential changes to list sizes some player who really don't deserve it may be cut.

PS spoke too soon.................he just presented me with a video highlights/thankyou video that he did for Broomy. :)

And he might be rookied lol

I think i was that kid lol. Tarks, Tooves and Caff, now onto the much more secure Maynard as a favourite but Sier is second on my list :p

Good luck in the future fellas. Pick 6 2013 and pick 20 2012. Not much return there as well as pick 10 in Freeman. What could have been. This unlucky period of drafting has cost at least one flag and maybe more.

Always thought Scharenberg had all the tools to be an amazing footballer, it's a shame that his body didn't give him that chance. I hope he can forge a career elsewhere. I wish he and Broomy all the best in their future endeavours, both solid guys who deserve a bit of good fortune.

Both from afar look like genuinely good blokes. Such a shame they both had injury interrupted careers

Still feel Schaz could make it. Would be shocked if Adelaide didnt take him on

If they took the Crock.. surely to God they'd take the Schaz.

I liked Broomhead... had run and class... but just couldn’t get a clear run at it for long enough. The broken leg looked to have slowed him down and took away from his run.

Scharenberg could’ve been anything. Had a wretched run. I think list sizes will determine if he gets another chance elsewhere. Just an awkward size. Has lost the speed and aerial ability needed for a mid sized defender. Too small to be key position.

Wouldn’t wish those sorts of setbacks on anybody.

Best of luck to them both

I have the same weird connection. Mind you, many of those players turned out to be excellent -- I remember the days when Leon Davis was a kicking bag.

Sadly it was time lads. Like many before and unfortunately plenty to come, injuries cruelled promising careers. Thanks for what you both brought to the club and I hope you get a chance elsewhere if your bodies allow it.

So sad for both these guys. I think the club hung onto them for so long because they hoped, like us, that they’d make it. I was convinced about Broomy in his early years, and followed him around watching his VFL games. Less stalking of Schaz, because he was nearly always too injured to play VFL let alone AFL. Reminds me again of the old Collingwood lament - what could have been. :(

I think Broomy has been given his fair amount of time what is it 6 or 7 years?
