Of course it goes to next level - we're supposed to be down to the best 6 umpires in the league so the usual incompetence excuses should be out the window.

So then when you hear them congratulating themselves for pulling off preconceived plans (the 2015 prelim) it all makes sense...

They usually get rid of the good umpires after week 1 of the finals and then let their favourite horrific umpires Stevic, Ryan, Chamberlain, Meredith etc run the joint. Nothing changes.

Two things ....

Port should not have let Richmond take so many telling marks in their F50 in the last, unforgivable.

The umpires seemed to let the Richmond defenders maul Dixon all game with no penalty, kept pushing him out unfairly in the marking contests.
He wouldn’t have marked them even if he was 50m on his own

I think if Port won they would have limped into the Grand Final. Injuries and a young team beaten up in the wet.

Tigers spent less tickets tonight.

wish i were able to nominate this for some kind of post of the year. both for the pun, and being able to imagine that smug bigoted face sad
would be nice to win something this year. Good luck. Dont really want to see you win another flag, but your team does deserve it....again

* the umps they didn’t give us enough free kicks 24 isn’t enough it should be 97

Never mind the fact we got smacked 27-9 in clearances when the game matters that doesn’t count

Ugly game but at least it was close and therefore, entertaining. Umpiring wasn’t great and ended up favouring the visitors. Awful deliberate call in the last 10 minutes; only the umpires, one-eyed fans and BT thought that was the correct decision

That was clearcut. Blatant knock forward directly over the line. That's been deliberate for 30+ years
