The thing that makes me sad about the recent premiers is that we were ahead of them all in 2014, what we've done since then has been a monumental **** up.
Absolutely need Brisbane to win.
The club thinking oh we were so close against the reigning premiers would be disastrous. Would be 2015 in repeat.
Brisbane winning erases the excuse that we were actually in premiership contention.

Because it hurts more knowing that we would have won the Premiership had we been able to kick one more goal and get over Richmond? Similar to knowing we would have beat Sydney in 2014 had we got over the line at the end against Hawthorn because Sydney were garbage on GF day.
I’ll be going for Brisbane from here on in I think though. So many flog players but at least I don’t mind them as a club. Hate Geelong as a club and wouldn’t be able stomach a few of those Tigers players with another premiership medal *cough* Lunch *cough*.

Nah I'd rather know we were good enough, which we were in 2014 - I agree. We wouldn't have smashed Sydney physically like the Hawks did in that first quarter, but I believe we'd have won at the 'G. Yes that's also why 2015-on sucked so bad, we thought we had "the missing link" with Paddy and then faffing about with the game plan until it was incomprehensible, but that's all on us and Ken at the time, not the bloody Hawks. This year I'm not sure we'd have got past Brisbane, or even Geelong again. We had to play out of our skins to get through that one. Agree a Brisbane win is the least of the possible evils.

Yep. The other good thing about Brisbane winning would be the irony soaked whingeing about beds and home grand finals from the Vics. Go Lions!

Then again, what's the bet Richmond win by 10 goals next week, just like Hawthorn did against Sydney in 2014 and we spend the next however many years dwelling on another premiership let slip?
