Should be a good clash between bat and ball IMO. NSW favourites for me though.

According to the below article, Starc is 'unlikely' to play.

Confirmed not playing the first game. The 12 man squad is:

Peter NEVILL (Captain)
Sean ABBOTT
Trent COPELAND
Harry CONWAY
Liam HATCHER
Moises HENRIQUES
Daniel HUGHES
Nick LARKIN
Nathan LYON
Kurtis PATTERSON
Jason SANGHA
Daniel SOLWAY

So you'd think one of Sangha or Hatcher to miss out. Gilkes not picked either.

Only 6 batsmen named in that 12, do you want to see Abbott bat at 6? Hatcher a certainty to miss from that group

Nevill would bat 6 with Abbott at 7 as has happened on multiple occasions for NSW. I didn't say I wanted it to happen but you know it's a possibility.

Hughes
Larkin
Patterson
Solway
Henriques
Nevill
Bowlers

I just assumed Tremain was named rather than giving a thorough look.

Surely Sangha's leggies are of more value? With Moises in the top 5 as a change seamer.

Strange to not see Starc playing. He usually doesn't sit out the early shield matches as far as I remember.

RIP Chris Tremain's career

Thought him going back to NSW was bizarre at the time, even more so now

Larkin and Patterson deadset threw away their wickets.

It's as if they watched Qld roll Tassie for 250 on the same pitch and decided this NSW side would fold in the same way. And now they are going to have to deal with Lyon in the last innings...
