Well its finally here. After a long and difficult season Richmond and Geelong will play off

Richmond are playing for their 3rd Flag in 4 years. They would start favourites and have been the best team of the last 4 years

Geelong keep surprising people - like Sydney of old - they look old and finished but manage to do enough. It might be a fair comment to make that in this most compromised season they have possibly benefitted the most with shorter quarters and 17 games.

Having said that Geelong suffered the most by not playing games at Kardinia Park and its wonky design parameters.

The weather will play a huge part with rain and lightning expected it will suit the team that plays the ground ball better

And that would be Richmond . Richmond have designed a game plan around chaos ball ie moving the ball forward under any circumstance and manner , pushing , bunting , slapping and generally playing a maul style of game.

If the weather is as bad as expected the ball should fall to ground quite often.

Is this the last chance for Selwood, Ablett, Taylor and Dangerfield? Or will they keep on keeping on?

My tip is Richmond by 16 points

Get the Grandy over and done with so we can move on to the REAL seasons!

The draft and trade season, which we'll win and deprive Carlton people of their annual trophy and the pre season which I think will be tight but we might be able to take that premiership off Port if we talk ourselves up enough.

This would have to be the least interested in a GF I’ve been in the last 20 years. Can’t muster any enthusiasm.

It's a dig at the AFL for making changes to allow Victorian teams end of 2006 to win flags more easily. There was uproar that non Victorian sides had won so many flags between 1992 and 2006.

Surprise surprise since then only 2 non Victorian flags in 14 seasons since.

OK, but the wording suggested that no non-Victorian side had won a premiership since 2006, which is not so.
