It was delayed to start with, and rest assured they are making it as hard as they can to host events in SA currently.
You don't get it, Supercars as a racing series is dying. Not much point investing money into a event for a dying racing series.

Better off chasing another racing category such as Indycar or Formula E. Also the desire to host races in the city has also diminished since the Bend has now been established as the elite motorsport venue in this state.

Trust me I do get it, have been involved with the event every year since 2004.
If it wasn’t for COVID it was running next year.

* the Bend miles away from anything and I'll never give a dollar the scumbags that run it.

I was losing interest in the category but this has finished it for me.

It's got more to do with the gazillionaires who own OTR

What you talking about its only 25 minutes ;)

It was happening next year if it wasn’t for covid.
Beyond that is anyone’s guess.

I think that's a main part of the issue. If the state government saw a future in the Supercars beyond next year they probably would have renewed. Next years crowd numbers would have been critical to its contination beyond then, COVID or no COVID.

I don't think it's anyones guess at all...... Because it isn't happening.

Blame SA Health all you like but this one isn't on them.

Labor going down the class warfare line usually I think that's crap but reckon they have a point this time

Holden pulling out of Supercars is like Ferrari pulling out of F1.

If this were 1986, and Enzo made true to his word about leaving F1 for Indycar, the Adelaide Grand Prix would have also been under review about its long term future.

Holden, Penske and Adelaide 500 all in 12 months.

Not a great look for Supercars

I dont think you read what i wrote.
It WAS happening next year until covid.
SA health has made it impossible to hold such events in a covid free state.
There was a contract and sponsor for 2021.
I should have said "what was happing in future years was anyones guess."
I realise its not happing anymore
