do they even have 1 ruckman?

Yes, they do have one.
He is the one they committed to very early in the piece with their number one choice in the PS draft only to see the REAL #1 pick go at #2.

You know, the one they got from the other club with an extremely strong rucking division.

Sheeds in recent years doesn't seem to give two hoots about the Wizard/NAB Cup, as shown by Essendon's poor performance against the Blues in 2005.

For what it's worth i think the Dons will win by 4 goals anyway as Carlton will struggle to kick a winning score. Given Fev was held goalless by Saddington (of all people!) in an intra club practice match, Mal Michael will have no problems....unless of course Lara Bingle shows up and flashes her forward line at Mal whenever the ball comes down!

Look for the young guns to impress for the Blues.

You will find it very different this year.
Both clubs need to start winning games.....

Essendon will want to win as many games as they possibly can, and have been up and about a lot earlier than normal this year.

Will be a good contest imo.

I feel as though Essendon want to win on Saturday as they really have something to prove to the rest of the league.

We simply need to win to shut the doubters up and having a long nab cup run will prove to some that were not as bad as people think.

In saying that i reckon we'll get up by about 6 goals. I think we're just better than them all over the park and will more options in the Forwards and will be able to counter there forwards with big Mal and Dustin Fletcher.

 :o

Yeah ... thats what we need .. an aging, old full back, who needs a "special" training program.

actually ... any full back wouldnt be bad for us

Bombers to do it easy, to much class for the Blues and seem to be better prepared. I am interested to see how Gibbs will go as they believe he is carving it up.

On a pure talent basis, the Blues by 60+ point. But the Don's have an old, experienced spine which our inexperienced lineup might find tough. The Blues also have the edge in height and pace. The outcome will be largely dependent on the teams the coaches select as well I suspect. Looks like the Dons will be going all-out. I think the Blues will be resting some of our senior players, but I still think we can win comfortably. Will be interesting who Sheeds uses to tag Murph and Gibbs. :)

I know you are taking the pi-- parrot but you seem to have contradicted yourself if I may point out.

On the one hand you suggested that Essendons spine may trouble the blues, yet further you on mention the blues have the edge in height?

I think you need to review your post.

Correct. The Blues have the talllest list in the AFL - the Weagles are the next tallest list, at an average of 1.5cm shorter. You might see Gibbs and Grigg on Saturday, both 190cm. I really hope Grigg plays - this guy has explosive pace and a booming left foot. Was on the Crows short-list before the Tiges slipped up and overlooked Sellar. In our defensive half we'll probably play Setanta (200cm 100kg+), Thornton (193cm), Bower (194cm), and Hartlett (196cm). Josh Kennedy at 198cm, will extert some physical presence at CHF I'm sure. Running wing/midfield types Russell and Walker are also around 189cm. We actually lack small in and under players. Murph at 180cm, looks like an absolute midget at training nowdays. Wayne Hughes has put a large emphasis on height and pace. The Dons, by contrast have drafted some excellent smaller midfield types, who I think will be good. Looking forward to the game, and hopefully this is the start of the resurgence of our 2 great clubs, although I think the Blues have a massive talent advantage over the Dons list at this stage. :)

I reckon Parrot makes his posts three times longer than they actually have to be in order to make it looks like he knows what he's talking about.

Oh and :)

Essendon by one point after a 40 mtr snap shot on the siren by Bachar Houli.

Basha is interviewed straight after the game declares Allah himself is now watching over Windy Hill and praising it on a daily basis (because he likes the physical contact) and wishes the game was invented 2000 years ago.

The quality of posts from newbies on this board recently has been simply outstanding
Agree, i remember my first week here, wanted to be accepted by fellow bombers supporters so i tried to put a positive spin on the season with a big report, would not do it again, took to bloody long.:p

Is it politically correct to call Houli a "Bomber"
