Here is my take. The players were removed because they were not fit for purpose. You don’t come out and say that Stevenson and Phillips are too soft to play AFL football, and you don’t come out and say that Treloar burns the ball far too often to be an effective footballer, his hammies are also of great concern id imagine. I suspect they anticipate that these three being traded is a good thing because they will only depreciate over time, you won’t be able to judge this objectively until time has passed.

Buckley is not a liar, if anything he gets caught out for being too honest. Not sure about the others.

Dad thought it was good advice at least to the extent it would have got attention.

He made two mistakes. Not hitting little Thorold at all and not hitting you enough.

of course ill keep following the club as i have for almost 60 years. i love the club. that certainly doesn't mean i feel the same way about an administration who appear at best, incompetent but more likely - despite their undoubted shared love of the club - arrogant and even malignant. time for them to f#*k off and give us back our club. before anyone tells me its a hard edged business - give me one bit of evidence that this regime is in any way good at that business. donations to the homeless are wonderful but sorry dont count.

That's a bit too sugary VP. You aren't becoming a spin merchant? I wouldn't let the club get away with the rider that this is somehow a turning point, a new beginning. It's swallowing the medicine of a major stuff up, nothing more. We are worse off because of these events and please Collingwood don't spin it any other way

Doesn't mean we can't improve from the reduced position we are now in. When we do it wont be because we have whipped off the band aid or had a moment of clarity to see the way forward. Any success in the short term is in spite of this stuff up not because of it. I dont want to hear the innuendo of us being better off without Stevo and Treloar in particular. We are a worse team for that period. NM are better , the Dogs are better directly off us being worse. Cats, Dogs, Port, Brisbane, Carl, Ess, St K, Melb are all better for their successful trade draft period and we are worse. That makes success in 2021 and in the short term less likely. Hope we get there anyway. This is what the club should be telling us and despite the mess they are now full bore into 2021.

P.S Bucks and Eddie going now would help us start the new chapter we need

I'm sorry but when individuals at the club take it over and make it all about themselves like buckley then fans have the right to cancel memberships. I used to go to every home game each season but the only games I've been to in the last 3 years are queens birthday because my family are melbourne supporters. I'm not going to go to matches knowing we as a club are not doing everything we possibly can to win games. By that I mean having not just a local level head coach but robert harvey who wouldn't get an assistant job anywhere else

Don't think you can fairly characterise supporters like that. The price of those tickets is a different level of sacrifice for everyone, some will struggle to afford it. Dropping off for a season as a form of protest is legitimate and doesn't put a grade on that persons level of support. We have very few ways to let the club know what we think

I have emailed the club and asked my 4 legends memberships to not be automatically redone. I also let them know how I feel. I had to put the memberships on hold cause the club have stuffed up my seating and last season had me and my three sons sitting in 3 different spots. So I cant do the automatic review, still it was a chance to speak, without anyone hearing no doubt, and fix the problem at the same time. We all have our own stories and I dont begrudge anyone who feels strongly enough to cancel

As usual, hard to argue against your points GC. And I don’t absolve the club from the mistakes which have led us to this point. I’m just trying to see a way forward which is the start of turning from, and learning from, these mistakes. But without change to the current regime, it won’t be easy.

P.S. I don’t agree with you about Treloar, but the ‘2018’ Stevo is a massive loss. I don’t know what happened to him, some awful stories and innuendo on here, which may or may not be true. But Bucks and the club don’t want him, and there must be a reason for that. We sold him for a packet of chips! I also don’t agree with the view that Bucks somehow ‘ruined’ him, or even worse, ‘sabotaged’ his talent. That’s just preposterous.

P.P.S. I know you don’t subscribe to that view. It’s just very disappointing and disheartening.

If a group brought a ticket to the AGM to overthrow the board, how would the voting process for that work? I was reading the Collingwood constitution and it says that ordinary members can vote, which voting to have the current board would be the only reason that I would have for having a membership in 2021. When will the next AGM be?
 
The trades are all about salary cap. It had to be fixed, bottom line. Fair enough. The process has been dreadful and shows that the problems that led to this are still there. Eddie, Bucks and Co have demonstrated that they can’t lie straight in bed, use spin and rely on the supporters giving them loyalty and have created a big mess. The playing group will mark them all down and trust has been lost. How do we get back our Club from the Toorak cliche?

If this disfunction and poor character of the Club continues it will lead to an exodus of players and supporters. Not me, but many supporters are still sore about the coach transition and won’t take much to jump ship. I now find it hard to support Eddie’s Club with his rubbish decisions but love the team. I guess the rotten admin and entitled leadership will continue until we turf them out.

SO lets get this straight, you demand loyalty from members but happily sit by and let the club not only show no loyalty to contracted players but also tarnish their reputations at the same time? Is that right? Some people have ethics, they cannot support what they cannot condone. I have no issue with trading players but the way the club went about it was a disgrace.

And how else can people register their disgust? Its not like this club is open and respectful of its members, its the Eddie McGuire show, plain and simple.

Buckley is all spin now. He is a failure. I supported his appointment but on reflection it was a disaster. The Toorak cliche need to be moved on. Surrounding yourself with yes people is not a way to succeed and shows your weakness. Enough is enough, time for them to go.

When does spin become lying. Bucks and Co and invested in disinformation. That is lying. It is a pandemic in the world.

As I understand it, not every membership category has voting rights so it’s not as simple as being a member therefore you can vote at the AGM. It’s akin to being a social club member versus a season ticket holder, to use the terms from back in 70s & 80s. I’m sure 76woodenspooners can explain how it works as he has been to many AGMs over the years.

Buckley has posted one tweet that has become a he-said-she-said argument, and another saying it was a very tough day to exit these players.

The rest of the club to my knowledge has remained silent apart from Ned Guy who exposed himself as a complete fool.

People cant have it both ways.....one minute they are complaining they club is not saying anything....the next minute they are accusing them of lies and/or spin despite the fact they havent said anything.
