Is wonder when the AFL notified us of their decision... it might go some way to explaining why headlines went from “Pies chasing Gunston!” to “Pies can’t afford to water training ground with real water!” in such a short space of time.

How about we dont pay Beams at all and let him fight us in court.
 
Very poor form by the AFL in this situation. They are very behind the times if they don’t take mental health serious enough which is absolutely disgusting.

Hope this thread stays alive forever, I know for fact he comes on here and reads this stuff and I'm pretty sure he has half dozen burner accounts.

Surely he doesn’t read BigFooty? I’ve head the rumour about him trolling other players through burners on Instagram.

Not hard to believe he’s not welcome back at 2 clubs.
 
I know i'm living in an alternate universe but it seems strange for the club to be so worried about its image regarding the beams matter, and yet so non-thinking about the clubs image after kicking treloar out the door.... I know their hands are tied and they are at the mercy of beams and his lawyer but I personally couldnt act like the club has.

Beams retired a month ago.... doesnt that have any effect? If you retire from work, the fortnightly salary stops......at least in my universe

exactly.... if someone returns from workers comp, they can get placed in a job that eases them back into work.... and remember workers comp is for when the employer is at fault and the Pies had nothing to do with beam's mental health. I'd have him putting out the witch's hats and helping the boot studder. He needs something where he can learn some skills.

Has multiple accounts

Remember for about a month I was getting late night abusive messages from random accounts who most had never seen before?

He was probably cooked.

He likes painting, get him to paint the lines on the field. Or get a fresh coat of paint inside and outside the Holden centre
 
I am confused about some parts of it, did we negotiate a payout or are we just paying the contract?

Another question, Is workers comp or insurance a thing for situations like this in AFL, If i suddenly couldn't work i would have to rely on insurance or compensation they certainly wouldn't be paying me for life of contract?

And if Brisbane Lions knew about some of this before the trade how are they not accountable?

Got to give it to Tom Boyd appears he did right thing by Doggies.
 
So they are negotiating a medical payout through the AFL so it’s not a TPP issue, how bad must have we mismanaged our cap if even with Beams being paid out by the AFL we still could t manage to attract talent. Disaster!
 
Beams isn't fulfilling his contract, so why is he being paid? The decision to recruit Dayne Beams is one that the club will have to live with long term. Probably sets us back 10 years or more. Cost us two first round draft picks. Has already seen popular players marched out the door. Wish we had never, ever gone there.

He sends text messages into talk back radio when the topic is about him, without a doubt he's searched the internet for discussions about him and found Bigfooty.

Someone on the main board (I think) made a decent point... What if a Polec on a long-term contract has a discussion with North and they agree he suddenly has depression?

Unfortunately our problem is that there's no real precedence. Would've thought sitting out of the game for 2 years would be good enough assurance though.

Yep.. When the truth comes out you'll find Eddie made the decision to bail Beams out and trade him back to the Pies. Eddie Trump should never be involved in any type of Football decision what so ever, he had a direct involvement in the appointment of Buckley as senior coach and who knows what else. Stick to marketing Eddie, you have destroyed our beautiful club. :(
 
No way will the Pies challenge this:

1. Any attempt to do so would put the amount of due diligence into his issues in focus. Maybe we knew and went ahead? Maybe we did no due diligence and were just caught up in the 'woke' moment of bringing a lost soul back to the club?
2. What is in the contract, did they negotiate out a clause to the effect of no work, no pay. He must have had an unconditional contract which just seems bizarre give his issues.
3. It might see Beams go back into depression and you know, being a woke, sensitive club we would not want that on our conscious would we.

I have always been diplomatic about Beams but no more, he is a POS, was POS from the time he arrived at the club. I wish I could say more as he had problems from day one. He never developed as a person, you only have to look at the way he left the club, taking a giant dump on it and yet like idiots we not only welcomed him back we gave up 2 first rounds and a lot of cash. Want to know what has caused our cap issues, look no further.

And furthermore he ruined the 2010 grand final celebrations with his antics.
