I’m waiting to see what he’s like after preseason before I pigeon hole him. Like I said if he’s not internally motivated to improve and float through the year, he will be playing SANFL footy.

He won't be playing SANFL footy unless he's getting a tune up after returning from a decent injury interruption. This is Tex we're talking about, leadership of a young forward line will guarantee that you won't see the word 'omitted' next to his name.

This is big footy urban legend, it did not happen. We dropped Seed and Mrouch for round 4. Mrouch returned in round 5. Next senior player to be dropped is Kelly for round 8. But he returns for round 9 which also saw the return of Gibbs, Rat and Knight who were dropped for round 10. Kelly dropped for round 11, returning round 12. Seedsman dropped for round 13 and Murphy for round 17.

So after the covid closedown, in the timeframe that you refer to, we dropped a total of 2 senior players with 1 returning the very next week. In our final 16 games, and excluding the immediate dropping of the 3 ins for the Kangaroos debacle, senior players were dropped a total of 6 times. Kelly twice and immediately returning, Mrouch once and immediately returning, Seed twice and Murphy.

How you and many others saw our selection philosophy change isn't backed up by historical record.
Suggest you compare the beginning period of the season v mid period of the season for games brackets of players.

We had more players under 10 or 20 games. E.g. McPherson, Hamill, Sholl, Himmelberg, etc.

We were playing an inexperienced side.

Meanwhile the likes of Seedsman & Atkins were dropped long term.

Hi folks,
Please excuse the intrusion but didn't know where to post this.
I have been offered Tyson Stengle as part of a complicated trade in a keeper league.
Do you see him as part of your best 22 and getting games in 2021?
Thank you in advance.

Yes and yes once he is back from suspension

That's not what you said. You said we dropped some senior players in favour of less experienced players a few weeks in. We didn't. We effectively dropped one with the 2nd returning immediately. There is a difference between what you posted and playing kids out of necessity due to injury as opposed to form. The evidence for a change of philosophy barely hangs by a thread. Especially when you take into account the selection decisions that directly contradict that view.

He's definitely on his last chance, but the talent is certainly worth the risk. For what its worth I think he will pull his head in after his last offense!

He should, but I wouldn't trust that very different selection standards will be applied to him. On the flip side, he might push himself to the edge knowing he's close to being done at our club. Hope that helps.

Largely a forced shift. We still went the usual direction with numerous selection choices. It's an important distinction.
It wasn't really forced, we made a decision to flick some senior players and not offer contracts to some others.

We did replace the likes of Seedsman & Atkins will Hamill, McPherson & Sholl.

You are just on some sort if crusade at the moment... so feel free to continue, but the reality is this year we played more younger players.

No it's not, it was thrust upon us when it turned out we were completely sh*t in 2020. We didn't plan for this, we descended into it.
Being wrong is a difficult concept for you to grasp isn't it.

I don't see any downside in us nominating him as a father son...

We can still take him in the rookie draft if no one bids right? At least by nominating we have a right of reply if a bid does come in + the discount.
The downside of it is that if we don't rate him we have to take him anyway.

There's no downside for him as such.

No, I don't think we have to take him at all, but it would be strange to nominate him and not take him as a rookie for nothing.
I thought once we had committed to him and he slid through the ND we were compelled to take him in the RD
