Hollands noise is getting louder. Hopefully North pick him!

Yes, that's indeed the hype. This explosive half forward has often been mysticized by the emergence of Martin as an all time great, little do people know that Martin if not for his miraculous awakening in 2017 would be only a very good player in the previous 7 years. In other words, Martin is only one of a kind for the type of player. De Goey and Stringers are the next two best of that type and they are a considerable downgrade.

I rather us getting a harvey or wells type player and that would actually complete our midfield.

Is that such a bad thing? Early mids might outclass the later picks by a lot whereas the talls might be farely even.

Let's look at the players who have recruited thus far to ascertain possible draft options. We picked up atu (small forward), Corr (Key defender), young (small defender), stephenson (medium forward). This leaves only 1 conclusion and that is we will be going after midfielders in the draft, at least the first 2 picks. Even if we get holland, he is there to play midfield. If it was back in the old days, we would most definitely be going after a solid dependable player in Phillips but under new management.............dare i say we might aim to get someone with more x-factor.

I think it'd be silly to take Phillips over Hollands.
Based on highlights video alone, I'd take Phillips over Holland's. Some of his clearance work was jawdropping. Love his composure and decision making in traffic. He has the pace, the endurance and lateral movement. Holland's might end up being a gun mid too but a lot less evidence for that so far. Based on his highlight video does anyone else think McDonald is a bit meh? Highly competent and can't fault his numbers in the WAFL but doesn't exactly ooze X factor. The Thilthorpe laddie looks a much better prospect to me.

I'll take a bloke who can dob goals from 60 out, anyday. We need a center square mid who can really ROOSt the ball. Perhaps that's Stephenson, who knows.

It’s no doubt a concern.

I do think in recent years, recruiters have gotten better, avoiding the man child types. It’s also worth noting that the majority of gun KPFs in the competition were first round picks/FS/Academy, however no question there is more a risk if we go that path.

PHILLIPSPHILLIPSPHILLIPSPHILLIPS AND THEN SOME MORE PHILLIPS.

Inside bull with burst of speed.

Guaranteed gun.

Just imagine for a moment if CUNNINGTON had a burst of speed.

Now no need to imagine that anymore if we get PHILLIPS.

PHILLIPS and say no more.

He might be a better pickup for North than Hollands.

It has to be a big forward. That is the hole in the list. We only have one, larks who has played <50 games. Comben untried, injured & physically underdeveloped & Xerri a raw ruckman. We have not replaced Brown. If Larks goes down we have no key forward.

If we were concerned with replacing Brown we would have kept him.
