I, for one, take it as a compliment that two Adelaide supporters are arguing amongst themselves on the NMFC draft thread. So you are basing your opinion on another person's opinion?
Outside of one or two on BF that do the work, watching a few highlights is what the majority of "draft experts" have forged their opinion on.
I can see us picking Holland at 2 and then selecting pace at 11.As to picking the player for our draft, we can fit the most pressing role for us?
Is holland what we need? What role does he fit in our team? If holland comes in, never mind the injury, how does he compete with zurhaar and thomas? Remember, we still have ziebell and garner. Also stephenson will also be playing half forward at times even though he has been pencilled to become an inside midfielder with his dynamic abilities.
Phillips will add to our midfield rotation and can also be a small forward. At pick 11, now 15, we should be able to nab another decent midfielder. Our biggest dificiency is lack of pace in the middle as that could also sip into defense and attack.
Who's the 'tad too confident' kid you're referring to? Arrogance not always a bad quality if you can back it up with actions.Agree. This could
Phillip's did another very impressive interview on SEN today. Seems to be very balanced kid as opposed to one other big target who appears to be just a tad too confident in his own abilities. I wont be surprised or disappointed if we take Phillip's
Admittedly I keep on changing by the day as to whether I'd like the club to go with McDonald or Holland. You can confidently say they'll both be very, very good players.I'm always a bridesmaid.
I back your judgement and appreciate your insight into these kids. And I know there is a glaring hole at FF, but the way the game seems to be going is the most dangerous forwards are the medium ones who manage to not only kick 40 goals a year but rack up 20-25 possessions and set a few goals up along the way.
And the thing is, didn't we take Comben with out first pick last year?! I can't see why 12 months later we'd be considering it a bust when he was taking screamers over Taz last preseason. Obviously I'd imagine we'll take McDonald if he's available, but if Comben shows anything like what he did this preseason, next year, where would McDonalds (by round 4 on this board in this scenario) even play? Seems overkill to me and an incredible gamble with our best draft equity in years in what is essentially a "midfielders" game.

Well that's not hard considering Perkins could go as high as pick 4 to Hawthorn by some media reports...I'm warming to Pykie's McDonald/Perkins duo as the best combo for our first two picks.
A load of hot air in that article. Doesn't offer any insights at all to people who even vaguely follow the draft.
Perkins/Cox would be a pretty dynamic duo too.Well that's not hard considering Perkins could go as high as pick 4 to Hawthorn by some media reports...
So would obviously be a steal if he slips to pick 13/14 if that's the case.
Perkins appears like this years bolter. Will be top 5-6 I reckon.I'm warming to Pykie's McDonald/Perkins duo as the best combo for our first two picks.

No one really knows who will turn out the better player. If the crows recruiters think it's a close call I would expect them to pick the homegrown kid.
Admittedly I keep on changing by the day as to whether I'd like the club to go with McDonald or Holland. You can confidently say they'll both be very, very good players.
What I will say in regards to Comben however is that I thought it was very interesting that Ben Armarfio made a point, an almost emphatic point of singling out Charlie as a player to watch for the future in his interview with slimeball Barrett last week. I think he referred to him as a competitive beast or something similar to that. Anyway I thought it was an interesting comment for the CEO to make about a kid who hasn't played a game yet. On reflection maybe it was an indication that the club's settled already on taking Holland and that we're confident with our current crop of KPFs and medium forwards. Also a very real possibility of picking up a Cox or Reid at 11 if that's the way we want to go.

Zero chance of Perkins being there at our 2nd pick.I'm warming to Pykie's McDonald/Perkins duo as the best combo for our first two picks.
There are alot of us in front of you at equal third thoughTurn it up mate.
Sometimes I just base my opinion on the opinions of others who watched a few highlights.
Yet I'm the 4th best credentialed draft watcher on this entire forum.
TZ thinks he's above all others :stern look:There are alot of us in front of you at equal third though...behind Pykie and Sooup of course.....
If there's any truth to the suggestion we were looking at a pick 2 for 5 swap, then I would think Perkins is right in our thoughts.Perkins/Cox would be a pretty dynamic duo too.
Whoever we get I'm going to be excited! I've got faith in our recruitment team.
Nah mate, if EH (Holden) is liking random posts from random Roos supporters simply hoping he’s coming to Arden Street, then that can only mean one thing..To be fair he also liked a post about going to the Hawks .. actually he liked or commented on nearly all 53 comments lol

Would love to get McDonald and Perkins at 2 and 11, but I just don't see Perkins getting past *'s three picks. They've been crying out for a dynamic big bodied midfielder for years and they have a chance to get one here whilst still getting two other top prospects.
If they do pass on him we'll be rapt of course (provided he gets past GWS and others too). Just feel like this is some wishful thinking on our part.
I realise that there is almost no chance of this happening, but:
If McDonald is there at 2, with the recent rise of bolters Cox and Perkins seemingly into the elite group in the 2-7 range, an Es*endon pick trade of 2 for 6&7 would mean two of Thilthorpe, Hollands, Phillips, Perkins, DGB, Campbell*, Cox and Bruhn while preserving pick 11...
It also makes it easier to force bids for Campbell and Jones.
