Nothing wrong with him (or most draftees for that matter) developing in the WAFL for a year Joao. And then who knows what our defence looks like for 2022 or in what area or direction he develops. All academic anyway as it’s unlikely we get him.

He has to go past about 4 decent to good players to get a game as a defender. That isn't changing in 2022 either as none of them are old.

Obviously he can do that, but it makes no sense because there is nothing wrong with our medium tall mix. Literally the last part of the ground we need more depth in and I would also argue that hardest to improve. If he comes, he has to train in the midfield or its a complete waste. He can't even replace Hamling or Pearce long term because he is too short.

So essendon shouldn’t bid on a player they rate highly, so other clubs don’t bid on their player. If those clubs are into Brand and Eyre they’ll be bidding on them regardless of essendon bidding on reef.

I also got told that Braeden Campbell could be as good as josh kelly with a better kick and a few top 4 teams rate port's Jones as a special Jimmy Bartel utility player at pick 7 with port looking to trade up. If anyone reaches and bids (dons crows etc) on that reef kid well the pies will trade a future 2nd and bid on there nga player early to return the favor. Henry Walsh had interest from vic clubs and a few interstate clubs so now the draft news the the next few days should be interesting.

His upside and versatility makes him a seriously good prospect. We have 3 top 10 picks, which is something we probably won't have again for a long time. If anyone can use an early pick on a player with untapped potential, it is Essendon. And probably no team needs a big-bodied mid more than Essendon does.

A tank is something you can develop with hard work and Rutten knows all about how important a good tank is. Size and natural ability is something you can't. He'll dominate when he develops the tank because he'd be a nightmare to plan around. Instead of looking for immediate needs, we should select players we believe could be the best in the draft and McInnes in 4-5 years time has that potential.

Well McInnes grew up as an Essendon supporter so I can't imagine he'd be too upset playing for the club he supports.

My brother and his mates have grown up with him playing footy so from the horses mouth him and he's family don't care about being a essendon supporter as they want to repay the pies for helping with his broken back as they are very old school loyal people. But anyway each to there own the boys school coaches see him more as man child sam powell pepper jarred berry type where i see him just as a laverde/ charlie ballard

I don't think that Any AFL club would listen to the noise about players wanting this or that if he is the best fit for that club at that pick then they will pick him and if Collingwood him want that much they will have to match the bid.

All i know is reef is not interested in essendon and only wants to play for the pies for helping him for years plus if an interstate teams like the crow's bid on him he would just ask to be traded back to the pies as he wants to be near his family. But Essendons nga kids Cody Brand and Josh Eyre must have huge upside to have interest from about 5 clubs to be bid on in the second round 30ish. Newchurch might get bid in the second or third round.

Logan McDonald has had THREE interviews with the crows, including with Leadership Development Manager Dan Jackson, Nicks and obviously Ogilvy.

Don't believe anyone else has had 3.

Probably Hollands and Thilthorpe. Its a guarantee their first pick is 1 of the 3 and small chance they get another with their second 1st rd pick.
