In 2020 played 10 x U18 games for Norwood (4 'times in bests') and 6 x Reserves games (also 4 'times in bests'). Kicked a 5-goal haul in one of his U18 games.

Unfortunately we didn't capture stats for Reserves (and U16) games this year in the SANFL comps because of budget cuts.

The highlights above are from the 5 goal game!

Seems like he has a bit of Dylan Moore about him
Only 177cm. We really love our Norwood dwarves don't we 😂

More power and speed. Better suited to an inside role than Moore.

Nah, the extra rookie spot would have to be for a cat B rookie.

I'm not exactly sure how the long term injury list works but I guess there's a chance we put Sicily on that if we want to make a SPS or MSD selection.

But no more regular (senior or rookie) list spots open.

Luke Parks was the SA player we’d shown a bit of interest in that played similar to a recently retired Hawk(Stratton). Ex-Swans academy.

Carlton took him in the rookie draft.

Interesting that neither Henry Walsh or Max Heath got picked up in the Rookie Draft. It seems as though clubs are taking the opportunity to push the speculative rucks into either the VFL or an over-age year at NAB league level to see whether they've got something to work with.

Can't blame them, pretty shrewd move.

What I like from this draft haul is that we actually drafted players with elite attributes.

DGB with his marking and ability to play on all types of forwards.

Downie with his speed and kicking (and thighs).

Brockman and Mitchell with their speed, agility and creativity.

I feel like the last 5 years of drafting we have tended to go for players who are perhaps jack of all trades yet masters of none.

Players like Morrison who is a competent footballer but without any standout traits as a player. I am not having a crack at Harry but you get my point, what are his weapons as a player?

For me to make it in the AFL these days you need to have that one point of difference to build your game around (a bit like being drafted in the NBA). Otherwise you are probably just a really good VFL / SANFL / WAFL player.

Morrison will do better now with the longer quarters.

Assuming you dont mean Henry here

I agree with that, he is more an endurance athlete than a power one.

And to be fair Harry was far from our worst this year, I was just using him to illustrate a point (maybe unfairly on my part).

I am still happy though that we drafted players with identifiable weapons/strengths though instead of in between / utility type of players (of which we currently have a plethora)
