Almost like this kid didnt exist, Have not heard his name anywhere or seen any vision of him.
surprised Crows or Power have not looked at him.
Apparently has had stress fractures in his back over the last few years and this is the first season he's been able to play consistent footy.

But no Callow or Baldwin, and that despite our obvious need for a young KPF or two on our list. Really says something about how they rate their chances of making it at AFL level.
we do have CJ, Chol, Bigoa and Miller for the VFL team. maybe just trade in a good one to replace JR when he hangs up the boots. Actually watching a highlights package of 2020 and I'd forgotten half the great things Chol did.

Interesting that Liam Kolar is still nowhere to be seen for any team.

Got to assume there is some inside knowledge about him that has scared all clubs off.

More generally, the way we're avoiding KPP, especially with Jack closing on retirement, is either a huge rap for our current VFL KPP, or an indication that we have someone on the hook for a trade/FA in the not too distant future.

Of those we have training with us, I like the look of Green. Not sure he's KPD size (192 is low end), but even if he doesn't develop into a big inside mid, the prospect of him playing on a wing at his size, marking power and endurance could be well worth a spot.

It’s all a seedy ploy to get his brother over.

Mansell is somebody I’m happy to see in the frame, I always thought he was a bit undersized in his draft year playing for North Launceston in the tassie state league but he has matured quite a bit, does all the Richmond type things in games, think he could easily slot into our side and play a role if injuries hit. Played half back for the eagles but can also play forward/wing. It’s my understanding north actually told him they would rookie list him as he was part of their academy a couple of years ago and they stooged him.

Now I admit I don't remember how I felt when Jayden Short or Liam Baker were being considered as rookies, but I have to say I find this list pretty underwhelming. Couroupis obviously because there is so little of him available and Green because of a bunch of reasons outlimed in Draft Central (plus it's hard to find stuff on him as well, too many other Josh Greens in sports out there). Watching and reading Mansell he feels the most 'Richmondy' to me. So he'd be my preference out of the three new boys.

When all is said and done however, I wouldn't be shattered if they just go with Eggmolesse-Smith again. Doubt any would have anything like his disposal and having received the scare of his life being delisted, it might just be the kick up the backside he needs to work even harder on his deficiencies. Ultimately though if we passed on all of them I really wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Is there a limit to how many can be invited to train? I wonder if there's still more to come.

Or perhaps those talls we're interested in (Baldwin, Callow, Kolar) have accepted invites to other clubs that afl.com.au haven't reported yet.

Lucky enough to be contracted.

Their both sh*t. Turner the type to get it 30 times and do nothing with it, Naish the opposite but too soft to make it at the highest level. Both players went MIA in the 2019 VFL finals.
Short sighted assessment , I could name you a few name senior players that went missing in finals 2013-2015 yet you hang a kid in first season , hmm makes sense

I get the impression the club values toughness very, very highly. It appears that players can possess elite skills and have enormous aerobic capacity but if they squib it and don't hunt the footy or the man they eventually get shaken loose. Confuses the hell out of your average support as it looks like we're throwing away gems but you can't argue with the results it's delivered.

The money for players training comes out of the salary cap. It was 1K per week when Stacky was training.

The best two performed over the summer will get the spots. I dont know any of the players from interstate. That GWS didnt pick Green is problematic imho. We cant be picking players based on name or family connection. Our caper us winning premierships now so the best performed should get the call up.

we would need one at latest in 22. A trade is never a guarentee and i dont recall any tall forwards being avaiible through free agency

Dunno about interest in Baldwin, Callow and Kolar, every club including ours passed on them
sounds like only posters on BF have the love for these 3 players
I think i'll trust in our football department in not making the call to invite any of the 3 to train over the summer
Also not recruiting any KPP for the sake of replacing JR shows how little our recruiters rated the draft for these type of players
I get the feeling we may just trade in a KPP next year or the year after
For the near future we may as well go with who we have in Chol and CCJ as back up KPP, even Balta can be swung forward

yeah agree by end of 2022 season would be about right for a trade/free agency
Harry Himmelberg GWS maybe, or a long shot Ben King GCS

Why no love for Himmelberg, i thought he was GWS best forward in the 2019 GF, given that GWS played bad all 2020, wouldn't cost much in end of 2021
He's a good mark, moves well, almost a like for like with JR, but yes please Ben King even though he would cost a packet

Im a Yes for Himmelberg

He is a foward i see capable of playing the 2nd KPF role well in our game style and would also love to get his brother as well
Both these boys can football

I feel for those kids , that no club has either drafted or invited for spp spells doom for their immediate chances , hope they play at least another 12m of vfl and try and impress

Kid could be anything , match him up against dusty for a couple of closed sessions and let’s see
