We're talking about Shannon Grant here and not Jarrod Grant right? Cause I'm thinking a few of you have them mixed up.
Grant was a gun. Schwass was better, but Grant was still a gun.
They both wouldn't have much trouble getting a game in our team these days!
He certainly became a campaigner off the field. But that really has nothing to do with rating his footballing ability. He was a star.
Nothing to do with Schwass, he's an all time great of the club. I watched him plenty and agree he was a better player than Grant.
But suggestions Grant was scared on the field and not a real North person are preposterous. He was a top player in his own right.

Passmore has summed it up with those stats, there's no denying how good he was. If a 20 year old Shannon Grant was on the market this trade period, every club would have been clamouring for his signature.

Everyone would prefer Carey, that has nothing to do with the conversation. He didn't con his way through 300 AFL games, he was a legitimate star player.
