NBL 2020/21 Season

Amusing people are against the hub, but, football fans are furious that the A-League didn’t do a plan B like the NBL.
Hub's fine when it is necessary, but the fact they have fixtures before and after says it's not.

Good. Still can't believe you can trademark a effin building....
Truth be told, you can trademark pretty much anything.

The noise (the particular pitch, frequency and timbre) a Harley Davidson makes is trademarked in the US (not sure if it is here).

Massive leg up for the Melbourne teams

Of course it is. Doesn't Larry still own portions of both?

That is weird. But Harley Davidson wasn't funded by public money though. The Opera House was (in a roundabout way).

If it wasn’t you honestly think they would not hold games in the 2 stadiums that have the biggest attendances? So obviously they have seen evidence that it is, rather than be caught out.
Wollongong/Illawarra/Hawks have home games scheduled on January 16, 23, February 7 and 14. Sydney have home games on January 24, 30, February 6 and 13. The hub starts on February 20, so it's nothing to do with the current outbreak.

The only line of thinking that makes sense to me is that the NBL saw the 3 week gap caused by the Asia Cup Qualifiers and quarantine (Feb 17 - 23) that Australia and New Zealand have to play in the Philippines against the might of Guam and Hong Kong and tried to fill it with this NBL Cup, then realised no one would care about their glorified Blitz tournament so made the matches count to the actual league (I mean who cares that the Breakers lose half their team to the Tall Blacks). So we've ended up with a mess with most teams not getting home games for a month right before all the attention goes back to footy season.

Looking forward to the NBL starting, have no problem with the hub....safety first from Larry who is a very shrewd operator. Basketball is Australia is lucky to have him.

Realise this may be the wrong thread (not sure if I should start one) but as a Tasmanian involved in basketball really looking forward to watching how the franchise / team / coach develop with the Jackjumpers coming in to the league next year.

CEO of the Jackjumpers said they should announce the coach before Christmas which hasn't happened, hoping there are structures in place for the right person to be appointed to help develop a strong team and launch the franchise succesfully.

yes well.....

not sure how that will work during the season, since we lack a stadium atm. Reckon it is just to get them out of Melbourne in case things heat up over there again.

Yep heard that, you are right about us not having a stadium to play out of......unless they can play in front of 1000 down at Kingston ;)

Still no news on the coach of the Jackjumpers

Tasmania JackJumpers Appoint Scott Roth as Inaugural Head Coach

As a Wildcat supporter do you rate him - what are his strengths / weaknesses?
