Wrote a few pieces on Malik Monk for SwarmandSting(not the most reputable site but I went pretty in depth with the film and analysis)

If anyone has the time to read em: would appreciate any feedback/criticism. Be warned, I am very high on Malik Monk and some of the stuff I say may appear bewildering at first, but hopefully the volume of film available provides some credibility to my contentions.

Will definitely have a read. I think Malik showed a lot of improvement this year before the drug suspension. Good to see he's been reinstated.

Will be interesting to see what the roster looks like next year. Bacon has already said he will look for opportunities elsewhere. Hopefully we can offload Batum / Biz or both.

Biz expires this summer. Thank god that's done. Billy improved a lot this year but JB playing favourites and having a hard on for bad positional defense and dropped pocket passes(Biyombo) meant he didn't get to show off his improved defense much.

I think we ride Nico out. Maybe we can use it to match salaries in a trade at next years trade deadline for a team that decides to target 2021 free agency. If Orlando kinda bomb out, I could see a Batum for Gordon+Aminu trade happening. We can then trade Gordon at the draft/free agency for further assets.

Number of other interesting trades for Batum: Philly have a mess of a cap sheet, but we could take on Harris or Horford for expiring Batum, if Sixers could give us some draft capital/young assets(Zhaire Smith, or their 2021 first would be nice). The Sixers need those guys off their cap sheet to get Ben and Embiid help that actually fits.

Much as I'd love for Kawhi to sign with the Hornets in 2021 free agency, I believe we won't be signing any marquee FAs then; so I'd rather use Nico's expiring to take on an extra first rounder. Our championship timeline, if even open(only opens if Borrego and Kupchak get it bang on from here, which I don't think will happen) would be like 2022/23 season at the earliest, where Monk and Graham would be on cheap rookie extensions(hopefully), PJ is still on his rookie deal.

And I want extra picks and assets because I think getting Cade Cunningham is the deal breaker that opens up our championship timeline. And we would need to move a mountain of assets to get him, assuming we can't luck into pick 1 next year.

Is and will likely always be the fear while following the Hornets.

If the upward trajectory continues they will get the offers from the big markets. Can only hope they like what they build in the meantime too much.
