Just a reminder not to cross the line, BF does have rules we all abide by regarding mental health issues and unacceptable comments and jokes. Feel free to discuss any topic reasonably but please think before you post.
And please stick to the topic only.
Thanks.

One of those girls is on onlyfans. Would you be proud of your daughter or sister if they were on onlyfans ?
Why does it matter that she has an onlyfans?
Says more about you then it does her:

We are both talking in absolutes which needs correcting.

SOME people use mental heath as a shield.

They use it as a get out of jail free card.

Most don't and there are real underlying issues.

Yes, people don't go around advertising they are living with a mental illness.

It just seems a fair few AFL players (and media people) trot it out as soon as they get into trouble for being idiots.
It's not like a standard player caught drink driving or some other minor issue usually results in the mental health card.

It's often when someone has done something with terrible judgment that risk their career. So why would someone do something like that? Well, it's often because they have an illness impairing their decision making.

Apart from that it's also usually when they get a heap of spotlight put on them. Patton's got more coverage than a whole lot of violent criminals. Which in some ways comes with the AFL territory but in other aspects I don't think we need to be hearing so much about this apart from it's happened and that it's not tolerated and a punishment will be given in due course.

It's just disappointing to see so many people get upset about a claim of impaired mental health when we still need more men to speak openly about their mental health to save lives (of both men and women).

If his mental state appears to reduce any punishment then complain about that if/when that happens.

For now I'm glad he's getting help because no matter what he's done he deserves to be safe and cared for and given a chance to face his punishment and atone from it.

How many hundreds if not thousands of women send naked pictures to AFL players every year trying to pick up a rich young bloke. How many get called out by the media and morons on social media? None. Bet you most of the girls he sent the pics to encouraged and enjoyed every minute of it. Now wait for the outrage from all you morons believing your supporting a damsel in distress. w***ers get over it.

Stunning and brave.

While I acknowledge the dick pics were probably unwanted, If he wasn't a dick to them after being rejected we probably would not be here.

What's Only fans?
Sorry, old fart here

It's a subscription only platform that allows people to share content with their paying subscribers. A lot of the content is adult in nature (because you are asking people to pay, you need to give them a reason to subscribe), and can vary along the spectrum from not quite pornography to more hard core material. It's the logical extension of what some models have been using Instagram for.

The fact that someone has an Only Fans platform is irrelevant to their credibility or right to comment on any social issues. The fact in and of itself does not tell you what they actually post, and even if it is at the hardcore end of the spectrum, barring any illegality, it's between the platform holder's conscience and their subscribers.

I am 60 have had mental health issues for 47 years and hid this for a long time and now I am comfortable talking about it and have strategies to cope.. I fooked up along the journey of life and when I did I still took responsibility for my actions.
Do you find these days the environment is more understanding of these issues?

100%. I got that low and and sought help and I was not embarrassed at all like I would have been 30 years ago.I was well known with work and sport in Bendigo. I shunned everybody at my lowest point, which was in 2013, for a couple of years. I thought I was going to die but I sought help, I reconnected with those who matter to me. I did that well at hiding depression for sooo long. many comments"you would be the last person we thought would be suffering.... etc etc.
I still have down days but can bounce back and keep myself busy. In my experience with this is that my form of depression drains all motivation you may have.
