May be outdated but geez some decent out of contract player of interest outside the obvious big fish.

Would love to snag any one of;

Shai Bolton
Trent Rivers
Luke Jackson
Jeremy Sharp (GC)
Will Powell (GC)
Trey Ruscoe
Devon Robertson
Brendon Starcervich (loves the purples)
Zac Bailey
Chad Warner

Bolton would cost the most.

Rivers (2023), Jackson (2022), Robertson (2022) have all resigned beyond the of this year.

The James Harden trade from Houston to the Nets makes our trade for Kelly look light on.

4 first round picks!!!! I suspect the Nets have redefined the term "All In"
Gob smacking.

3 1st rounders from NY Nets to Houston (2022, 24, 26) PLUS Houston has the option of swapping any or all of 1st rounders 2021, 23, 25 and 27 with the Nets.
Plus they get a Cleveland 2022 1st rounder, PLUS they get Exum and Kuracs.
And Houston get all that for Tim Kelly James Harden.

He's good, BUT...

has a flakier team ever been put together?
Harden goes missing in finals.
Kyrie is trying to prove the earth is flat.
Durant likes to get into Twitter arguments using burner phones.

Can see this blowing up in spectacular fashion!

Fully accepting that it isn't allowed under AFL rules (and it's not going to happen), imagine...

Collingwood come to us or went to Richmond and offered the following deal...

We'll give you our first round draft pick in 2022, PLUS the first rounder in 2024, AND same for 2026. And we'll throw in the 2022 first rounder we picked up from Essendon...
AND
we'll give you the option of swapping first rounders with us if we finish below you in 2021, and 2023, and 2025, AND 2027.
AND we'll give you a couple of under 25 year old top line players, say De Goey and Sier...

And all we want for all that is 30 year old Luke Shuey (or Dusty Martin).

I love Shuey, but seriously? Is there anyone who wouldn't jump at a deal like that?

Bball is 5 on court. So 1 player can have a massive influence on the teams success. Footy is 18 on field,.
Plus I would bet there is a marketing aspect of the above. They are probably going to massively cash in on sponsorship, ticketing, merchandising, etc.

Cedrix Cox to the Beagles.

Nice move.
At some point one or both of Rioli and Venables will be ruled out for the season opening up another spot on our list. Good to have Cox under our noses to assess if he’s a worthwhile replacement when that time comes

Cockburn has 2 and a half minute packages for ALL their draftees this year.

Meanwhile West Coast have barely given us 30 seconds of each of OUR draftees. Who's supposed to be the richest footy club again? :westcoast::toilet:

Just Quietly, how good does Treacy look? Cockburn might have found one there, which is disappointing. Not sure how the hell he slid to the rookie draft.

Agreed, he looks like an absolute steal. Vic Country KPPs got the cold shoulder at the draft and Fremantle appear to have benefited in this instance.

Finished 2019 as the highest-ranked bottom-aged key forward in the NAB League, with a body at 193cm & 92kg that is ready to go from day one.

Seems to be a natural leader as well - tough as they come (some of those highlights give T.Wilson bowling ball through pack vibes), always vocal, never hesitates and averaged just under 3 tackles per game as an under-aged key forward. Became a coach to his local team at Echuca after getting injured and was named co-captain for Bendigo in 2020 before the season was cancelled.

Trained with Essendon during the 2020 preseason pre-covid, so it is somewhat interesting they didn't pick him up considering they were going for KPP.

Biggest knock on him appeared to be in regard to speed and agility, but after training by himself during 2020 with a focus on running, he was able to knock out a 2.97 second 20m sprint at the combine, which I expected to have caught far more attention than it did. (For comparison, J.Ugle-Hagan did 20m in 2.897 seconds - J.Brander 3.11, J.Petruccelle 2.87).

To be honest, he looks and reads like a top 10 draft prospect in any other year, yet was somehow forgotten almost entirely in 2020.

Will become a cult hero for the Dockers. Reckon there is a good chance he may debut in Round 1 as well.

The purple mob need to sell hope any way they can. Pumping up u18 kids is going pretty hard.

We don't.

Maybe we dont see him being an AFL level forward. He's not tall or quick. He'd be more suited to mid but whether he has the tank for that anymore is another question.

I thought that the problem was with Alec.
Reports were that he wasn't sure if he wanted to commit to all that being an AFL player required, wasn't sure that he didn't need another year to make sure that, 1) he wanted it; and 2) he was truly over the glandular fever.
