I think Andrew Demetriou is as crooked as they come

IIRC he garnered himself a six figure sum for “being an intermediary” in getting the SANFL, SACA, PAFC, SA GOV and AFC over the line for the AO redevelopment. Surely that would’ve been just part of his job brief as head of the AFL, but alas no, milked the f*** out of a leveraged opportunity.
What a c***!

It wouldn't be hard to be better than Gil that's for sure, but morally as far i know he]s light years ahead of Fat Andy, but that wouldn't be hard
Gil has the benefit of being born into money, he doesn't have to chase it, he just has it.
Fat Andy had to play dirty to reach that level of privilege.

Should Adelaide retrospectively get their 2013 draft pick back? This dick head punished Adelaide for paying Tippett outside cap for an amount that would have still been under the cap more than Essendon got done for drug cheating.

For the millionth time, Adelaide volunteered their own punishment. How can fans continually get basic facts about their own club wrong?

When asked by the commission what made for good corporate governance, he got out his notes and started reading from them. That’s Mayor Quimby level.

It singled out Mr Barton and Mr Demetriou for particular criticism.

Mr Demetriou was sprung reading from notes in the witness box when quizzed about corporate governance and company culture.

He initially denied he had been reading from a script but Ms Bergin found the text of his notes were nearly identical to the words in his answer.

She described his performance as "most unedifying" and "quite bizarre".”

It's totally embarrassing that the AFL chose him to run a billion dollar industry in the first place.

For his whole professional life there have been allegations of conflicting interests, so it should be no surprise he actually had to look up what "good corporate governance" was.

With this in mind he was a perfect candidate for James Packer to hand pick as an "independent director" of Crown.

He learnt from Ron Evans, so was always going to get the job at some stage.

"Crown Resorts director Andrew Demetriou has resigned from the board of the embattled gaming giant but has vowed to defend his reputation”.

No need to defend your reputation Andy, most of us have known it for decades, and you have just reinforced it in my eyes.

In legal circles, having the judge peg you as an unreliable witness is a bit of a problem.

Well worth a read about AD from the Finacial Review and his performance as a Crown resorts director, he was unaware Crown had employees in China, to busy fawning over James Packer I guess.

Not the news Crown casinos and Fat Andy would welcome
There is bound to be some more scandal dug up on the Fat Boy

Some of the footy scribes/cartoonists used to portray Demetriou as Zeus when he was the all powerful boss of the AFL, but given his near complete fall from grace maybe Daedalus would be more fitting.

I've done all the dumb things

Crooked is a big accusation. Immoral and unethical is probably more apt. He has always been out for himself and has a sense of entitlement.

People who helped him on the way up were ignored and forgotten so there are plenty of influential people out there who are happy to see him get what is coming his way. He won't find much help.
