I guess it’s probably the eternal optimistic feeling of pre season but loving the looks of the squad this year

The competition for spots is as strong as I've ever seen in a Port team. If even a few of Bergman, Williams, Mead, Jones, Hayes, etc, come on quickly, there's going to be some seriously good players not even making the 22.

Not sure about this comparison. That's 9 shitty top ups you've popped in there.

A better comparison would be our 2019 SANFL GF team, given the requirement for 5 Top ups included (and calling out the couple fringe AFL players that might’ve missed qualification but were outside best 22) vs our 2021 side including 5 top ups.

Put Levi in the later team and it’s a no brainer

I didn't put them in, that's a team we fielded when we were 9th in the SANFL.

It's a weird situation, we have a crazy amount of high end 1st/2nd round kids outside the best 22, but at the end of the day theyre all still a bit unproven. Hopefully this year we see them blitz it and come on strong, and those super talented kids become players we just can't leave in the SANFL anymore.

Ah ok, maybe I've just misinterpreted what you were trying to say. Comparing the current team to the worst SANFL team we've fielded, are you saying that our Magpies team this year will be bad? And only just better? Because if you were trying to say the Magpies line up looks good, then you should be comparing to a really good side we fielded.

Just showing how much turnover there has been in a couple of seasons. Looks a lot better depth, talent and in structure.
