Anyone got a theory on impact of Ziebell / Corr on Luke McDonald?
Obviously hoping the answer is ‘none’.
Might just have to see how it looks in the practice matches.

Ziebell, null impact. Couldn’t hit the side of a barn with his kicks and has no pace. I’m actually wondering how the hell he’s gonna be able to play at half back. Literally has all the opposite attributes to the ones you want for a half back. Corr will likely be a third tall intercepter, not a specialised rebounder. Sydney comes to mind as a like for like, with Corr playing the McCartin role and McDonald playing the Lloyd role. I’d be more worried about McDonald’s role becoming a defensive one. He is a gun defensive player when he wants to be, and if Noble plays him in that way, say goodbye to all those scores from last season.

Ended up taking him out, too, just ended up being other options elsewhere that seemed better in terms of bang for buck / chance of succeeding.

I'd like to upgrade him but only way it works is taking Neale out and I'm just not ******* around with that. He's a legit gun when he's up and about. Should be a no-fuss upgrade and I feel like he'll be primed for some KOTD treatment.

With this new Manning of the mark rule I think everything is tailor made for him to go mental in 2021. Like 105+ Comfortably. Especially back at the G with the wide open spaces. His speed and ball use will be relied upon so much for us

Don’t think he is as likely to be tagged as the Docherty/lloyd/Whitfield types of the world who have done it for a longer period

Or maybe teams will catch on after his grand final performance?

Probably the same reason they bought in Atu and Menedue. With smaller list sizes teams need more depth not less. I reckon North were hasty in desisting so many players as soon as the season ended. Bringing in Young/Menadue/Atu was conceding that their hard cull had gone too far and corrected that.

They should've culled more IMO. Aaron Hall, Kayne Turner, Shaun Atley, Dom Tyson, Tom Campbell have no business still being on AFL lists.

True on Campbell, however they wouldn't win a game let alone be competitive with half a dozen rookies on-field each week once they cop a few injuries. Bit harsh on the others. Atley is no star, but he's still best 22

i could add a few more tbh.
we all expected the list cull. north had plenty of dead wood.
of those you mentioned. atley and turner will probably play r1. Turner won the best clubman award in 2019.
campbell may also play r1 as xerri and goldy have got themselves injured.

Actually, was curious because we don't hear much and went to the Melbourne forum demonland and found a match report from the other day. I quote "Harmes was playing ON BALL and resting hff, was back to his best. Expect him to play mid all year". Get on lads.
