Squiggle tips Demons at 77% chance -- What's your tip? -- Team line-ups »
Yeah, nah. It’s hard to see who starts round 1 but I can’t help but think Cottrell is close to a call up. His energy and tank could be a massive asset against the Tigers move it forward at all cost game plan.
Spitballing a bit but he could make difference in stopping Dusty getting any real momentum.
Another hammy apparently. Holding breath doesn’t seem to work here...I'm kind of frightened to ask but how is McGov going. Its been very quiet. Is he training, is he fit, is he a round 1 prospect?

Only inside outside on the spread in the airI think your over value Cotters a bit.. Dusty would annihilate him.

Looking like a bust. Talented but this will be year 3 and what have we seen but an generally unfit, injury prone player that has been gifted games. Not great.Another hammy apparently. Holding breath doesn’t seem to work here...

I get what you're trying to say, but I disagree. No offence to him? But if Cottrell is in our best 22 in round 1 we are not the finals ready side most of us think we are.
People said the same about Daisy. He came good eventually.
Not sure Gov will ever become a star for us, but hopefully he can get a clean run without injury for a couple of years and provide us with that 30+ goal third tall.
It was a slight hyperbole but regardless, as a 3rd year player in 2019 he was consistently averaging 20 possessions a week (plus the 35 touches against the Dogs), and 4.5 tackles a game too. I'm thinking that now with the recruitment of Saad and Williams, it allows SPS to develop his run and carry off half back and model his game to theirs.Beast? Really?

Are you sitting down..stay with us RP84Not sure of Govs contract status (this is possibly his last?) but if he doesn't have a good year I would be moving him on one way or another. Needs to be playing for his football life.
Talent and power-wise, no contest. Cottrell has that mad glint in his eye that tells me he'll do whatever it takes to not be beaten though. We wouldn't be asking him to get 35 touches and three votes, just to take his opponent out of the game.I think your over value Cotters a bit.. Dusty would annihilate him.
Kind of happens across the league though. It was a slight hyperbole but regardless, as a 3rd year player in 2019 he was consistently averaging 20 possessions a week (plus the 35 touches against the Dogs), and 4.5 tackles a game too. The frustrating part is that it seems during the early stages of this rebuild, we were bringing in too many midfielders and not enough small forwards/defenders. Fisher a midfielder, re-modelled into a small forward. Gibbons a midfielder, re-modelled into a small forward. Cunners a midfielder, re-modelled into a small forward. Samo a midfielder, re-modelled into a small defender.
Now I'm not saying we shouldn't have taken them, but some smarter recruiting would've been nice. It would've been better imo to target some natural small forwards/defenders back in 2015-18.
Anyway... going off on a bit of tangent. Just hope that the likes of LOB, Cunners and SPS don't turn into the next Kane Lucus, Matty Wilson and Blaine Boekhurst.
Short of making him play on talls, I think Dusty would be just about the worst match up for Cottrell. They’re kind of ying and yang here; Cottrell’s strengths aren’t going to help him line up on a power athlete who’s such an instinctive player, his game is more about big moments rather than repeated efforts and lots of running.Talent and power-wise, no contest. Cottrell has that mad glint in his eye that tells me he'll do whatever it takes to not be beaten though. We wouldn't be asking him to get 35 touches and three votes, just to take his opponent out of the game.
It'd be an interesting experiment to be sure.
Essendon supporters used to say the same thing about Dean WallisNo offence to him? But if Cottrell is in our best 22 in round 1 we are not the finals ready side most of us think we are.
Would think he would be quite a way down in the pecking order for his position.
Will someone please think of the children? Are you sitting down..stay with us RP84

We are also getting accessEssendon members are getting a live stream of our practise game Thursday. So where’s our access?? Very sh*t by the club to allow an Essendon camera into our home ground if we aren’t getting the same.

How do we access it?
Looking around before you throw the toys out the cot is a good idea, considering Carlton posted this 30minutes before your post...Essendon members are getting a live stream of our practise game Thursday. Im not saying he won't develop into a decent player. Hopefully he does. I want all our players to do well.Essendon supporters used to say the same thing about Dean Wallis

Cottrell should be sticking closer to Ed Curnow than Ed does to his opponent.Talent and power-wise, no contest.
