I liked his little story today about Buddy on SEN. When he was new to Sydney he called Tim Membrey Morey. This went on for weeks. Buddy would say "hey Morey". Apparently the players that are sponsored by someone in the public have the name of that someone above their locker. So Buddy thought his name was Morey. So thats how Membrey got his nickname from Buddy initially calling him Morey.

Absolutely, of course we will find someone to whinge about it if it happened
Me.

Imagine a talented list of young players who have taken the journey all the way with us, from 16th placed to minor premiers and finally we're odds on to win the first of many premierships. This team have grown together, shrugged off big offers from other clubs, they are loyal members of the Swans family who would give their lives for each other and the club.

Horse brings the team together. "With the Tigers headed for the spoon, Dusty is joining us so he can finish in a blaze of glory". A murmur of whispers goes around the group. "Oh, one more thing. We'll need to trade a mid to the Tigers. Rowbottom, you're from Melbourne aren't you ?"

Ta. If only I'd read your synopsis before searching through the podcast. Ted doesn't even appear until more than 7 minutes in.

Under Player Profiles- its the correct picture. Not sure where else you're looking at.

Sen must be reading our comments. Gould out, Mills in but they still talk about Gould in the body
More likely someone in office read the article and pointed out leaving out Mills who is already Best 22 was somewhat short sighted;)

Why would you even put that in the title? from Riley Beveridge as well of all people who has experience writing articles on AFL.com
Agreed. Why not something about Mills in the mids which has been a long time coming & something people are genuinely curious about.

Foxtel did

EARLIER, dewy conditions in Sydney made for a scrappy contest between the Giants and Swans — a contest that bizarrely ended in a draw.

The match appeared to end in a one-point win to the Swans before it was clarified that the troublesome scoreboard had one final trick up its sleeve, with the match finishing at 54 points apiece.

After a few years in the defensive 50, Callum Mills proved he’s ready for a permanent move into the midfield, finding plenty of the footy in wet conditions in a best on ground perfomance.

The Round 1 bolter was Swans academy pick Errol Gulden, who attacked the contest hard and showed ample class by foot to be among his side’s best players in the midfield.

Tom Papley loomed large again around goal, with only wayward kicking preventing him from having a dominant first half.

Dear AFL website, only a complete turd would call out an 18yr old in his first game
I disagree Ticky. It's no biggie. The article isn't being critical. McDonald is mentioned (I assume) because people are always interested in early picks. The truth is Logan barely touched the ball. There's not much else the writer could say. Logan would say he was "very quiet". So merely "quiet" is almost a compliment. Nothing to get outraged over.

If you want to be pissed off about something, take on some of the armchair turds on BF who rip into our young players every day on this forum, simply because they don't like them. They had an expectation of the player, usually based on zip, and when the player won't perform tricks for them they use their disappointment to justify spewing out all sorts of vile nasty comments. Uninformed, ignorant arse-picking, armchair tossers who wouldn't know which end of a footy to stick where.

This is a public forum, just like a newspaper website is public. Players can and probably do read some of it. It's ok to criticise a particular play, call out a player having a bad day or whatever, but too many just get their jollies off on venting their bile, without caring a hoot for the very real person they're slagging off.

Weak fukkers hiding behind their keyboards. It puts a lot of decent people off forums like this.

Interesting that Daniher runs off his line like Buddy does and nothing comes of it. The Suns player jumps up on the mark then as Daniher steps to one side to kick he has this "WTF ?" look on his face.

Seems there's no point having a man on the mark anymore if a player can just walk around it. The rule stinks IMO. The AFL needs to stop fiddling with the game. They'll ruin it, just to get more time in for TV ads, so the fat cats can line their pockets further.

I think Ticky's point - which I wholeheartedly agree with, was that it didn't need to be in the title, he could have easily included that line in the article and no one would have batted an eyelid, but by including it in the title, makes it seem more that McDonald's game was disappointing rather than just quiet. That's my take anyway.
