I'm currently answering a "second" round of questions for a part-time job I applied for - "other than studying what have you been doing" and why do you want to work here

Pretty sure I've already answer the second question

As for the first, well I studied and had planned on further studies to get my diploma but then this pandemic hit and turned 2020 to shit - not sure I can quite say that though

I worked with a couple of Colombians at BP, working here to fund Uni courses.
Both very smart fellas (in fact, I'd say one of them was almost 50% as smart as he thought he was).
Both from large families, the deal being that they sent money home in order to finance the next brother's** English lessons so he could come and do his Uni course and so on, down the chain.

In all seriousness however, one of the major problems in US politics is that this describes a very large proportion of the Congressors from both parties - and even 3rd Party Candidates such as Sanders and Trump.

More than half of the last Congress were millionaires.

One of them had $260 million - after personally spending $60 million on his campaign.

That's just property.

That seems a quite less then I would have guessed, that is averaging a three bedroom inner city house per MP, average age of a MP is 51, which is most if not all of the way through a 30 year loan. You sure that total is accurate?

You see whilst there is bias in the media that isn't ideal and yes a disadvantage I don't think Mr Murdoch has an all powerful influence to completely swing election results on his own. I prefer to live in the real world and not make stupid excuses and put most of the blame on Labor dropping the ball in their campaign to stuff up the un-losable election. So I know get all these foaming simpleton political cheerleaders (like even NSWCROW) calling us some lover and sycophant for Murdoch

Hence why I take such great joy in taking the piss out of all of them pledging my (vastly exaggerated and satirical) love of Uncle Rupe and all things NewsCorp/Fox related.

Mindless sheep who blame Labor’s decades of identity crisis on a media mogul. Idiots.

Simple facts are that human beings in good times are more conservative in nature than in turbulent times, labor get in a lot when the boat starts to rock and once calm seas are found get booted straight out again.
Now they can’t decide if they want to be more far left and align closer with the greens on a heavy reform platform. Also looking at the environment and social equality..

Or go more moderate and centre left.

End result usually is the same just different means to an end. Opposition.

Appease the far left and it scares off swing voters as no one seems to trust our greens party. Go centre left and they alienate part of their supporter base while simultaneously losing the same swing voters who see little difference between them and the LNP

Without context that is neither a good or bad thing. If that wealth was corruptly gained then not good. If a lot if that is through hard work then no issue.

We should be striving to have bright sparks and successful people leading our states and nation. Would 150 people earning minimum wage, missing rent payments and barely got past year 12 be the nucleus of a good government?

The problem is the USA elected officials often are bought off by lobby groups. No doubt to some extent that happens here but no issues with people who have been successful seeking public office.

Look at my least favourite politician. Mr Andrews. Is it any wonder he is clueless. After graduating university (with a bloody arts degree) he worked inside the ALP. His only job has been inside the political party he serves. He’s never gone out and worked in the community in any shape or form. Little wonder he’s callously locked down business all last year, has no clue what they go through to stay open.
