Marketing 101, you study your key demographics. The Asian community earn statistically more money than other demographics, and tend to enjoy gadgets and technology. That's not a racist statement, it's fact.
Agreed, but Biden wouldn't agree to even meet with Elon regarding renewables (and a carbon tax would even significantly hurt Elon himself via Spacex), nor would be agree to meet with Ice Cube regarding assistance to the black community.
Despite personally making EVs sexy, he is disliked by the left because he acknowledged that socialism is cancer.
False. I've installed a few of their chargers, it's rich old white or asian conservatives flying around in them. Progressives take the tram.

And as we all know, rich old white dudes and asians simply can't be lefties. Particularly those that took the trouble to drive a Tesla
Yep, people who earn more and enjoy gadgets clearly aren't lefties either.
This is fascinating, tell me more
You fall for the cult of personality dont you? It seems to be a common trait amongst trumpers. The desire to follow another who is charismatic.Well someone's gotta do it m8. He's the man for his time. Will be looked back on like Newton and Galileo!
This article you referenced is basically promoting a conspiracy theory that Elon is just implementing these projects for himself and fellow billionaires to keep them safe from some sort of climate-zombie-apocalypse.and offers no real solutions for the climate catastrophe we're facing.
If that seems like an outlandish suggestion, consider the most recent vehicle for Musk to have shown off: the Cybertruck. It’s directly inspired by the dystopian future of Blade Runner and claims to feature body panels that will hold up to sledgehammers and windows that will stop bullets. Those aren’t regular consumer features; they’re things you add when you’re scared of the people outside the walls of your gated community and need safe transport from its gates to your exclusive underground roads.

The author is also admittedly partisian.
My dad just bought one - he’s a rich old white progressiveFalse. I've installed a few of their chargers, it's rich old white or asian conservatives flying around in them. Progressives take the tram.
Good on him for supporting the industry. Can I ask which make he got? While I've done a lot of work with home solar and batteries, I admit I have NFI what EVs are actually like to drive or which ones are better than which. My dad just bought one - he’s a rich old white progressive
I’d suggest the people buying evs - being that the price starts a fair way higher than a normal car are going to be rich old white ...................

The warranties look awesome, particularly on the battery bank. 7kw of solar on the roof is an impressively sized system too for offsetting it. Hope it serves him well.2021 MG ZS EV in Australia from November/December
Two years after its global unveilingwww.caradvice.com.au
He reckons its goes like sh*t off a shovel. He doesnt drive that often - has an electric assisted bike he goes for lunch most days.
this is for longer trips - he will be able to charge it during the day using the 7kw solar system on his roof
I cant see how you could be a progressive who would buy an EV in australia today. our electricity is mostly coal generated meaning that the emissions from an EV in australia is higher than from a conventional petroleum based vehicle and it will be that way for atleast another decade. Evs in australia should be banned until we make significant switches to solar and wind power. My dad just bought one - he’s a rich old white progressive

Sounds like he has thought it through properly unlike most. You missed the post after that
he has a 7 kw solar system on his roof - he can charge it from the sun - hes retired
then on top of that theres suggestions that people who dont need their ev till midmorning can use it as an overnight battery to store their own solar pv - then as the sun comes up the solar recharges the car battery. Requires you to minimise electricity use on waking - so set the dishwasher / clothes washer / dryer to start after 8 am summer and later in winter.
But aside from that - millions of individual motors are much less efficient than one big motor.
petrol and diesel motors spend very little time in the optimum efficiency rev range- electric motors are always in the perfect rev range with 100% torque available from 0 revs to redline.
Id suggest most people paying the extra for an electric car will have solar on their roofSounds like he has thought it through properly unlike most.
If you were paying for that power you would have a good point - but the power is free - so losing 10% each way is nothing.Even without renewables powering the things, investment in EVs is a good thing. More money into the industry for R and D.
Purchasing a hybrid household battery, on the other hand, seems to be worse for the environment on balance. With no battery, excess solar energy is given out to the grid. With a battery, excess energy is stored in it (with significant losses in charging and discharging inefficiencies - roughly 10% each way) for the owner's use.
But the above logic may still hold true here, that investment in the industry is a good thing regardless.
False. I've installed a few of their chargers, it's rich old white or asian conservatives flying around in them. Progressives take the tram.
I'm speaking purely environmentally. Having a heavy arse, generally non-recyclable hybrid battery in your house is less environmentally sound than simply pushing that excess solar energy back into the grid for your neighbours to use.If you were paying for that power you would have a good point - but the power is free - so losing 10% each way is nothing.

I've heard (grain of salt) that alternatives to Tesla are a far more common option in European countries. The LA crowd would be more about trendiness I imagine.Availability heuristic.
Not the case where I'm from. Telsa is the new Prius for the left. Plenty of left money in LA and no trams.
