  • No injuries
  • A competitive ruck division against Gawn (whichever way we decide to do it)
  • McNeil to announce that he's the bolter from the 2020 drafts, not just for the Dogs but across the whole AFL
  • A defensive combo that doesn't have us quaking every time the ball heads towards our D50
  • Swift and clean transitions that play to the advantage of our forwards. Not scrambled goals, each coming after 20 entries into the F50
  • Dunkley to show that he means to give his best for the Dogs in 2021
  • Jong to show composure when in possession

Lewis Young starring in defence

A big win 16:16 - 112 to 6:12 - 48

Given the Dees have a makeshift forward setup at present you would hope our backline would dominate. Like to see Bruce CHB but will not happen so Young in with Gardner in the 2s but also will not happen.

Improved ruck outcomes against Gawn, less goals leaked from our lack of forward 50 pressure

Optimistic Dog is the perfect username for this post 😂

  • Caleb Daniel one-on-one with Max Gawn in the goalsquare

If Naughton is going to play forward with a resting English that's enough high marking power (especially with JUH ready to burst into the team)

Why not try Bruce at FB, Keith to CHB. Not sure it will work, but we lack a defender who can mark. Bruce is looking fitter so it could work.

thats too logical for Beveridge, Bevo likes to think outside the square and be creative. Most times it doesn’t work, he goes back to the basics halfway through the season and we have a late surge to the finals as normal.

There’s nothing logical about moving a pretty limited player to a role they haven’t played in 8years on the eve of the season after that player has spent all preseason training forward.

I still think Bruce would be a lot better as a backman than Gardiner. Even without a preseason training as one.

appreciate your feedback Luke. All the best for the season. P.S - who is your VFL project player this season?
