Match objectives (in no particular order) :
Lose by less than 10 goals
No injuries
And under no circumstances :
Play Alec Waterman in the backline, or
Mention ‘learnings’ in the post-match presser ;)

Who is missing from Essendon's team? Hurley, who else

Daniher, Fantasia.

No, but seriously - Hurley along with Stringer, Clarke & Zaharakis probably the main 4 that would have been included if not for injury. That said, the focus this year is on getting games into the young fellas so a player like Zacha might struggle, Clarke too maybe.

We don't have a fit ruckman with Stanley, Ratugolea and Fort all injured.

Duncan is missing.

Then just your fringe players like Simpson, Dahlhaus etc.

So reasonably close to full strength.

hmm, ok, was considering Essendon at the line but maybe not;)

That said, it was blatantly obvious in the practice match against Carlton how much better the side functioned when Draper was onfield (only played the first half). So Cats without a decent ruck might give my boys a half a sniff of not getting flogged too bad.

So De Koning doing the ruck work tonight?

Looking forward to seeing Evans & De Koning tonight, firmly believe they have bright futures.....Apart from that, a good hit out for both & no injuries either.

It's early March and you are writing these Dons off?
Given most would have Hawks, Adelaide, North and Bombers for bottom 4 locks well before the season started, I think I'm being conservative.

I have North for the flag

What kind of commentary is that?

'They gotta try to get a goal.'

What do you think they are doing with their shots? Trying to deliberately miss? FMD.

Nek minute Geelong are huge up front with Hawkins, Cameron, Jenkins and Rowan as a fourth tallish player.
