Should retire and free up a spot. Twice in the last 25 games he has broken down early and we've lost and now he can't even get fit for round 1.
Wouldn't be surprised if he does. Not much chance of him getting a game now with the available youngsters.

The pessimist in me thinks the stars are alinging for a third mediocre season on the trot.

The optimistic side of me thinks that we won a flag in ‘18 when it seemed things were stacking up against us then too.

I really feel this season will define the path the club takes for the next half decade. I just don’t know how we’ll fare.

We can take hits to KPP much much better than we can take injuries to the midfield.

We're extremely mediocre outside of our first choice until proven otherwise.

I am hearing from a club non-footy department contact that Elliot's outlook is not good. I suspect this one will drag and we will not be seeing him until middle of year, assuming the progress continues at current rate.
He looked proppy when he was jogging...what actually causes OP? Tackling?

Really glad we held off on that surgery. Sure to come good any day now with this proven wait and see method.

Should have tried it with Nic’s knees, would have saved a lot of heartache.

They to this year is getting both Sheed and Redden back to 2018-19 form. Felt like both regressed last season. Redden drop was understandable in a sense he wasn't getting as many inside time as he would like to and he struggled witha few issues. Dom on the other hand had a decent yeah but nothing like his 18 fnals or 2019 form really. Really hope those to step up with no shuey

With yeo and shuey out a guy like achee should be playing midfield
I defended the guy last year but the bloke shouldn't get a game at all this year. Barely plays in the guts at WAFL. He would have been an ideal pinch hitter rotation but I think the forwards and mids we have above him have overtaken him.

Not sure what surgery would achieve. It’s just severe muscle inflammation.

From all the interviews and podcasts it seems Simmo doesn't rate him as a mid but he is a big body doesn't mind laying a hit/tackle good pace kicking isn't great makes stupid decisions at times but at the very least is a decent titration that won't get rag dolled

So this season will define the next 5 years?

Like really?  :drunk: :drunk:

Remember that season where we flopped, retired Priddis, Mitchell, Hill and others. Cleaned out some of the older, slower players. I recalled all the "experts" saying were entering rebuild territory.

You campaigners all know what happened next.

List management is a constantly moving story. You draft players 3 to 4 years before the established player retires. Rotham > Hurn, O'Neil > Shuey, Duggan > Redden, Oscar > JK, H Edwards > Gov.

And then you chase trades to improve areas of need. Kelly, Witherden, Langdon.

I thought they fused the joint or release certain muscles
It seems to keep everyone who gets it out for a fair while so I think if there were a ‘quick fix’ for it, we would’ve explored that option.

A mate of mine had it for 3 years (because he didn’t treat it right but that’s beside the point). It’s just one of those things you’ve gotta sit and wait around for.

So,with the 23 man squad being announced, with the extra man being able to enter the game after the club doctors have ruled a player out,
Who do we think is most suitable?
Will it be a young mid? The way gaff was used as a sub when he first came in,(from memory?)
Or someone versatile like an ah chee who really you wouldn't mind not getting game time in the wafl

Injured players can play the following week 😬 Coaches will be licking their lips.

Yeah i dont mind this rule now...

BUT the player has to be deemed now able to play for at least 12 days before the player is subbed off.

Handy for hammy/calf injuries.

But i think they have to get AFL approval if they are fine within 12 days.

You are probably on the money, someone like Ah Chee would suit...or probably Ainsworth.

Really hope this rule doesn’t get rorted - I’m certain it will but it’s hard to stop, just have to rely on Doctors being Doctors I guess.

They should consider a rule where a subbed out player needs to sit out the following week, should the rule be taken advantage of I think.

Agree the rule is better now it's all encompassing, but I feel a little uneasy about someone taking no further part in a game due to injury but being able to line up 6-7 days later which you can't do with concussion.

I know theyre saying club docs and AFL CMO must sign off on it all, but the rule is open to exploitation now.

Which might work, except when the team has a bye coming up. Or it’s the grand final.

This is the problem with policy on the run, there’s all these situations they haven’t properly thought through.
