Thoughts on VFL match - Pies vs Dogs?

JUH doesn’t have a tank, so shouldn’t be playing AFL for the next 3 months.... but signs were good.

Is there an online link to the game?

Might check it out if there is.

As I work full time Mon-Fri, I had no chance to attend.

I'm for giving Jamarra senior games. His testing has been fine, the things I want him to start doing is holding his marks consistently and improving his conversion in front of goal + kick. Endurance will continue building, though he's very much a fwd 50m impact guy who isn't as damaging further afield.

Jum for bruce is obvious imho. Doggies are a bit spooky

Knightmare given we look like having pick 1 in this draft who should we grab? Any KPF shaping as a pick 1?

Did you get so sick of winning premierships that you became a North Melbourne fan?

Whoever lands pick one shouldn't be expecting a KPP. There could be a couple of KPPs in the top-10, but I don't see any of them at this point contending for pick 1. I don't inside my top 5-7 have any KPPs. Though the season is still there to be played, so that doesn't mean that can't change. Particularly with no Victorian footy last year to know if someone has developed from nowhere.

Nah we have the Cats pick 😜

so at this point just need them to get pick say 6-8.

A friend who attended said you were there. He is obviously mistaken.

I worry about JUH’s ability to get through a game without being out in his feet.

Logan looks the real deal for the Swans. I can’t understand why North chose Phillips instead. One of those truly head scratching decisions.

Brodie Grundy? So 2019.

I was expecting a dominant performance by Grundy. He won the hitouts convincingly, but around the ground got killed. It seems to be the year with ruckmen where the around the ground specialists get favoured with so many fewer stoppages this season.

The likes of Max Gawn and Nic Naitanui similarly will see their output reduced pretty dramatically also if this continues, as appears likely early days.

hey km, can you please make a video or article with a redraft of 2015-2019 drafts?

I do have plans to re-do those drafts in the future.

If you're after a re-draft style video, you will enjoy the next video I have planned.

2016-2020 drafts top-100 career projection.

North Melbourne like Larkey/Comben/Xerri and feel they all develop and as a result felt no urgency to add another key forward.

I can see the logic from that perspective, and being a bottom team, and probably a bottom team for a few years to come, there will be countless more opportunities to add key position players as best available selections.

Phillips I don't believe will let North Melbourne down. It's more so a case of, as per my tier list before the draft. Logan and Jamarra are those top-2 talent and in their own bracket above the rest. Logan is showing me that separation and Jamarra still has time to prove he's up there with him. And this is coming from someone who is historically a lot more conservative than AFL clubs if you look at my KPP rankings, so when I have one higher than they go, or by a considerable marks, I really love their games eg. Balta.

Here is the video of jamarras 5 goals from Saturday

How did you think he looked Knightmare ?

What was there, that's Jamarra doing Jamarra stuff basically.

Only a few moments. I was hoping there would be more shown, other than just the instances he hit the scoreboard.

Nothing problematic there, it just wasn't a warts and all to be able to give you any insights I haven't made already.

Doesn't show whether he did anything up the ground. Whether he dropped any marks or whether he took all of them. Whether there were any badly sprayed kicks. Whether he set up any teammates or had any additional moments. So in watching that I feel like I'm lacking a broader context.

Our social media team sucks. Just don’t know what the big deal would have been to broadcast the entire game

I find this more broadly with AFL highlights. If you look up a particular player and get season highlights. It's all going back lining up for set shots, or field kicks at goal. No other moments it seems are mixed in, unless eg. it was a goal or something involved in that same play leading to that eventual goal they kick.

It's like if highlights were to be done with Pendlebury. Getting footage of him converting a set shot on goal would be completely missing the point of what he does that's great, and the same could be said of any number of players.

lol at least you got some footage.

I was genuinely surprised our club actually gave us a 4 paragraph write up about our reserves scratch match on the weekend.

Can i "infinitely large" like this.
Always does my head in when "highlights" are set shots.

Have a poke around StatsPro on the AFL site/app. The player highlights system for senior games is much improved. You get every single recorded involvement from goals down to incidental pressure acts, and the ~15 seconds leading up to each.

Just took a look now. Great feature! Can respect that. An improvement on traditional highlight clips.
