I think it's fair to ask why a crime which results in a $6k fine takes what, 4 months, to get through the courts, and prevents him from leaving the state for his livelihood. People get out on bail for charges that result in jail time.

Don't blame the system, the system did not break the law, Sydney did.

Out of curiosity, when Victoria had it's second big lockdown, did you personally ignore the law by driving further than 5ks, ignore the 8pm curfew, left your home to go get on the beers with your mates most days, not wear a mask etc ?
Victoria in it's second phase was in a critical situation, as the 800+ deaths will attest. WA was Covid free and had been that way for months. A bit different.

Up here in Mildura we have not had one community transferred Covid case. 5 all up in the first wave. So we have been a bit like WA. But by and large the majority of people did the right thing... except for many of the young people. The were pretty good in the first wave restrictions, but by the second wave they 'saw' that there was little to fear, and would be out most weekends in small groups much like before. The police would sometimes turn up, give them an hour to move on, and if they were still there an hour later would forcefully advise them to leave. Because the police like many of us, recognised that the threat was fairly minor up here, a bit like in WA and gave the young people some leeway. The young people of Melbourne, and my son is one of them, did a fantastic job of toeing the line, as did most Melbournians, but you can't compare that with the situation in WA.

To be fair though the court system needs to make sure it has free time to let all the nice guys who beat their partners and kidnap them off with a wrist slap :drunk:

The holy and sanctimonious "Rule of Law" must be upheld at all times, because it is right and just.

Anyway, I'll write more later.

Love,

Christian P. Orter

I miss the Sydney Stack that was running until he threw up in preseason. I hope that's the Stack we get back on Sunday.

To be a successful AFL player, you have to want it.

i dont even think he wants to play afl footy all that much

if he did he would not be at 25% fitness after everything that has happened and he most certainly wouldnt be having delusional dreams of becoming a rapper in america

VB Longneck the Fitness Guru. You really think the club, who has supported him the entire way through this process doesn't know where he is at? Blair flew to WA to be his support. They all know.

His pre season starts now. He'll be ready to go when we need him.

For him to only be at 25% fitness by his own lawyers admission there is no question that he hasn’t worked as hard as he could have

Fair chance he is giving himself a low bar so that there's less ridicule and scrutiny when he starts back up
I think if they were worried about ridicule his team wouldn’t of mentioned it at all
Would of liked to see him making the most of that time away
Ross hired a fitness and running coach over the pre season out of his own pocket no reason why stack couldn’t of done the same for the past few months when waiting for this latest court date

I mean I can think of a few reasons, but also wonder how we know that he hasn't? And also wonder how why we take a lawyer's comments at face value.

I think indicating that he isn't ready for football and is going to work on his fitness base which is low due to some issues like a month in prison and blah blah is a great PR strategy for them because it immediately wipes out 100 potential articles and tweets speculating a return to football.

It takes the pressure off stack and lets him focus on getting back to football with a little less shit storm around him

If his lawyer is saying that in a court case you would be silly not to take it at face value

If he had done the work they would be arguing that he has turned the corner and ready to get his life back on track and spinning it into a positive

If anything it puts more pressure on stack by not being in the best condition he can be because it just brings into question his commitment

I've never known a laywer to say anything other than the objective truth, there is never any PR spin involved in lawyer's statements [emoji6]

Let's agree to disagree. I just know that if I was lacking fitness I'd prefer the public perception to be not ready, rather than a bullish "I'm ready to tear it up".
