Not happening. The AFLW equivalent of the Charlie will be the Tayla
If the AFL are consistent they will name it after an administrator like Brownlow. Might be the Nici after Nicole Livingstone. Bloody hell.

Would be worth it for the "Hocked her Livingstone I presume?" memes every time a washed up AFLW star falls on hard times.

When we get in, if she wants it, we need to do whatever it takes to make sure she's our inaugural coach.

Yep, and in the very unlikely situation that we get in during her playing career we should be throwing the kitchen sink at luring her back, even if just for a season. We need that few years at the Crows to feel like a pitstop

Carn. Phillips has the AFLW equivalent of 2 Brownlows and 2 Norm Smiths. Plenty of awards to go around and she's a monty to get her name attached to one IMO.

Was looking at some Port Adelaide and Enfield council stuff last night. Came across their 900+ page, 2030 development plan, but also found this 80 page Sports Development Plan 2017-2022 report.

Going thru it you can see why the council is keen to back the club with approvals and $$$. A lot of the upgrade and expansion in infrastructure is driven by the taken up in women's sports.

Appendix 3 says some interesting thing about the demographics of the council area vs greater metro Adelaide averages.

Demographics Summary
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield has the third largest population
of any local government area in South Australia with an estimated
124,053 people living within the City of Port Adelaide Enfield
boundary area of 97 square kilometres.

In recent times the City’s population has experienced growth rates above
those of metropolitan Adelaide. Population growth in Port Adelaide Enfield
is expected to continue, with a population projection of 143,565 people by
2031 an increase of 19,512 people.

In comparison to metropolitan Adelaide, the City of Port Adelaide Enfield’s
population is younger and more culturally and linguistically diverse. The
median age of residents is 37 years compared with metropolitan Adelaide’s
median age of 39. The City of Port Adelaide Enfield has 36% of residents
born overseas and 28% speaking a language other than English at home,
compared to the metropolitan Adelaide population of 30% and 17%.

The City of Port Adelaide Enfield has higher average rates of chronic health conditions
(e.g. diabetes, heart disease), smoking and obesity than metropolitan Adelaide.
40.5% of the City of Port Adelaide Enfield adult population is physically inactive,
compared with 35.1% for metropolitan Adelaide.

At a local level the City is divided into five statistical local areas (SLAs) of
Coast, Port, Park, Inner and East. The Coast SLA and the Port SLA have the
oldest populations, with respective median ages of 42 and 40.

The Inner SLA and the Park SLA have the lowest median age of 35 while the median
age for the East SLA is 36. All of the SLAs have a similar number of children per
family of between 1.7 and 1.8, this is similar to Greater Adelaide with 1.8 children per family

The most disadvantaged area, as measured by the Socio Economic Indexes for Areas
(SEIFA), is the Park SLA with an index score of 865, and the least disadvantaged
is the Coast SLA with an index score of 963. These SEIFA scores indicate a higher
level of disadvantage than Greater Adelaide, which has a SEIFA score of 993.

Some areas such as Kilburn and Blair Athol rank in the 5th percentile for Australia.
This means that only 5% of Australian suburbs have a SEIFA score lower than these
suburbs (more disadvantaged), while 95% are higher (more advantaged).

The median weekly household incomes in the City of Port Adelaide Enfield are
all below the median for Greater Adelaide of $1,106. The highest is in the Coast SLA
with $1,084 compared to the lowest of $803 in the Park SLA.

The Park SLA has the highest proportion of population born overseas, 52%,
which is more than double that of the Coast SLA, 23.6%, and well in excess
of Greater Adelaide, 29.8%.

All five SLAs have a higher proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
than Greater Adelaide with 1.3%. The SLA with the highest proportion of Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander people is the Port with 3.3% compared with the lowest
proportion of 2% in the East SLA.

The Park SLA, 47.0%, the Inner SLA, 42.8% and the East SLA, 40.2%, had higher
physical inactivity rates compared with Greater Adelaide, 35.1%. The Coast SLA, 34.8%,
had similar level.

We don't have a specific Port Club redevelopment thread like the Port Adelaide Football Club Museum thread so I will put the link to the article and renders of the upstairs development in here.

THE PORT ADELAIDE Football Club is excited to share some new concept images for the redevelopment of the upstairs section of the social club upgrade.

As part of the redevelopment, a new interactive museum and retail experience is being created downstairs with the sports bar and bistro relocated upstairs.

The bistro will include an entertainment deck area coming out into the grandstand space to capitalise on the views out over Alberton Oval, the city and the vista of the Adelaide Hills in the background.

Meeting rooms will also be created alongside the bistro.

New images released by the club show a newly erected stairwell leading immediately into a clean and contemporary space with views over Alberton Oval.

With exposed brick walls, concrete floors and plenty of greenery, the space appears modern but warm, and the large glass windows run the length of the bistro to allow patrons to watch training or a game while they enjoy a meal and a beverage. The inspiration to bring the industrial feel of the Port into the heart of Alberton Oval is evident throughout.

Stage one of the redevelopment, which includes the museum and new Port Store, is making good progress with a completion date close to September.

The club is hopeful of securing the final funding for Stage 2 in the coming months to ensure the continued transition to the upstairs development work.

This is honestly the equivalent of moving next door to a ******* pub in the city and filing a noise complaint
What on earth do you expect when you live near an AFL teams headquarters?
Also, they're literally complaining about junior teams going to play sport. Why on earth would you ever discourage any form of physical activity amongst young people with huge concerns surrounding physical health, obesity and young people going around currently?

I don't think this is a thing lol

This is just residents complaining because they know the area will be heaps busier... and trying to do it under the guise of “Safety” and caring about the trees...

How did they cope back in the pre-AFL days with regular crowds of more than 10,000?
