All i've done so far is Worpel to Warner via Dow.

$335k left in the bank.

Considering giving Crippa another chance.

I know it's the most important trade round of the season, but I have pretty much all the correct rookies and find myself in the top 8000 after two solid weeks which never happens. Feel as though taking the bulk cash into round 4 and an extra trade for later in the season has some merit.

Why did you start with 3 dead rookies from the get go? Should always have 30 green lights in round 1. Two non playing rooks on the def bench is just asking for trouble.

Disagree with this. I think one non-playing rookie is fine as long as they look like getting a decent crack at it, like Downie.

A few days ago it was rook heaven for me. Might end in tears though if a few of these names get spelled right on the bubble.
Sharp, Kozi, Scott, Rowe, Highscore

Any Hawf or Crow fans care to suggest where Kozi and Rowe might stand re selection ? Safe ?
Hopefully Highscore isnt a scapegoat for a bad loss.
Gunston is a long way off, but Lewis is playing well at Box Hill. They need to keep Kozi playing, but he needs.to demand more of the ball. Old irongloves Obrien is the main target in the forward line and it just doesnt work, rap when Ceglar or Mcevoy go down there. Our forward line needs adjusting, and he may be the scapegoat, really really hope he isnt. Drop Obrien and bring in Lewis to play CHF and push Kozi to FF would be my call.

Yeah fair enough. We don't always have a playing R3 either. But having two dead rookies on the def bench is craziness.

Bit random, but Hawkers:
What is up with Worpel?
Don’t have him but honestly didn’t mind the pick / grabbing him in draft, what has happened with him?
Played out of position? Injured? Just down on form?
Rate him but at least SC-wise he’s miles of it.

Has never been SC relevant and doesn't look like making the jump any time soon.

I looked at him a season ago because he seems to look a player to the eye but the SC scores just don't back it up.

Hard pass.

What do you think Neale will be averaging by rd8? Would 110 be an attainable target? Personally I think it’s a conservative estimate but let’s look at some numbers at that baseline.

Rd8 (110avg) total points = 880pts
Deduct current scores of 75/76 and he’s going to go at a 121.5 clip in the next 6 weeks to get there.

Point is, if we’re looking at him as a keeper which isn’t in any doubt, the only way is up from here for us owners. HOLD.
Hai Kadog. What his value going to be if he ave 110 by rd 8?

The 75/76 have already happened though to us owners, so they shouldn't be factored into what seasonal average you want from the player to keep.

The only thing that matters is his average R3->23 from here on out, so if 110ppg is what you want then that's all he needs to score, not 121.5 (although that would be nice :rainbow:)
Problem is he is priced at much higher ave than 110. Shit some are expecting Impey to ave 90 priced at 212k.
Neale needs to ave 130+ to validate his current value.

Cripps will feast on the smaller Freo mids. We are tucked away on a Sunday so the pressure is off. You’ve been warned.
He can't touch his toes, can he bend low enough to grab little Andy Brayshaw?
My boy Andy Bray and Cerra will run rings around the slow campaigner
Everyone is in the dark on Crippa.
But, he trained better this week and with a longer break too - 10 days, is expected to perform better
Bugger this, no VC this week. Just straight C on Andy Brayshaw. :moustache:

Those cumming over cumming just be wary that freo scored 21 behinds on the weekend which he took most kick ins for.
Sure yepp. Similar to Doug Howard. They had lots of work on the weekend.
Trying to use it to figure out who the actual designated kicks are. Looking for those who take SOME isnt going to help. Some clubs are using the one guy almost exclusively with the new rules, and it will put a nice floor under their price. Noone expects 90-100+ to come from it each week with umpteen kick-ins. Plus, most are already $450K+. Thats all it is. Cheap designated kick-in dudes before the bubble to get a low JS low scoring rook off the field at D5/6.

Worpel was very much SC relevant in this period in 2019 which was soon after most other coaches had traded him out. :)

Honestly, he has looked handy and it seems they might be on the end of a few more kick-ins this year, they just don't look good.
Jelly getting no CBAs, Taranto disposal looking iffy, Cogs not flash, Green not even playing. Tobias could hold the head high,.as could big Flynnsanity, but that's about it.
Yeah they do look uber-shyt. Is that a bad thing for Cumming's workload, or a good thing ?

Dougal Howard the truly interesting one. More work than normal on the weekend hence the score, but he's also one of the best intercept marks going around.
IFF he's their designated kick in he could leap from a 60's avg to 90-95+ this yr. I dream about a 90 avg with 100% JS at D6 until the bye upgrades.

This place sometimes gets caught up with the plain vanilla and the bleeeding obvious. Thoughts that are a little outside the box are what i hope to see.

When a bloke is a great intercept mark AND taking almost all the kickins AND is only 350K AND has started 99, 133...its not something i ignore.

Another day, another trade idea for my team.

As of now, have gone Cripps > Butters via Dusty & Bruhn to Impey via Brockman. 0782E9FE-C8F8-48DE-B1F4-42F2D642BFC1.jpeg

After lots of agonising I’ve decided to hold Tom Phillips and Taranto.

I guess I’m expecting one of them at least to need to be corrected but they are unlikely to loose too much money. I’m running Flynn / Meek at R2 / R3 and Phillips / Taranto and a little bit of cash in bank is my get out of jail card in case I need to bring Grundy or another primo ruck in.

Trade 1: Caldwell—>Impey
Possible Trade 2: Scott—>Berry

Otherwise I hold Scott as a donut (don’t have any others) and let Berry run against me.

So you're saying there's still a chance he doesnt get dropped  Hopefully Clarko will persist getting gametime into them. He's a good prospect.
With Chapman not doing a lot its still a bit thin in the defs.

Highscore is also a "last man in, first man out" risk after a bad loss. They arnt playing disposable kids to rotate so he's going to remain a worry after each loss.

Narrowed down to two options, Phillips and Taranto can stay. Neale can't - see you when you're 500k campaigner.

1. Neale -> Titch, Bruhn -> Impey
2. Neale -> Brayshaw/Ridley, Bruhn -> Tex.

I agree with most of what you are saying but the counterpoint to that argument is Melbourne don't have any tall forwards that would prevent Doogs from marking the ball.

And at some stage in the season he will be up against the gorillas like Hawkins and Dixon.

Neale is going to go 150 after people trade him out this week.

I don't even have him and I still feel sorry for you all you plebs trading Neale.

Pies might bring in Greenwood for the tag. Levi was one of the best taggers in the comp for a short period of time, not sure if he's still got it, especially with his age and after a knee, but it'll be interesting to see.
