I don't normally post this type of rumour, but this one comes from someone VERY close to the Eagles. Oscar Allen is going to be the cornerstone of a huge trade deal involving Patrick Cripps to the Eagles next year. Don't know the details, but you heard it here first.

West coast would be fools to do that trade
Allen is the perfect replacement for Kennedy.

Also would feel for the guy if it happened ( as much as he looks like a flog ) , getting traded from a team you have idolised and then played your guts out for would be a kick in the teeth for what would be nothing more than a political trade (ie: WC will get Cripps just so that Freo don't)

I remember reading some of these comments late last year and thinking the same .
ICBF going back and looking it up but they've only had something like 6 years in the last 30 in the bottom 8 .

They've got so much bargaining power with the players they have to get in new blood without having to bottom out and rebuild .
Great model for success .

Speaking of Eagles, Worsfold is currently a
board member at a mining company (it rhymes with Lemmygo) and he shared some entertaining stories about Ben Cousins during his coaching days. Nothing bad (Worsfold would never bitch about anyone) but it’s crazy to hear for all the off field shennagins Ben did he set the standard in terms of work ethic on it.

Hawks are really the model to emulate, and there is a reason why they became a coaching factory.
Good drafting and an eye for bargain talent, and don’t even bother looking at injury concerns.

Having the grand final guaranteed at your home ground is a significant advantage too.
