Will West Coast be able to fit him in salary cap wise or is it Freo or Carlton?

Would be touch and go you would think. Might free up some space with a few retirements and would think a few others might have been front ended. Carlton would have the ability to pay more so would be able to match and force a trade. West Coast don’t have draft picks and wouldnt offer any one up that would be worthy of a swap.

Maybe they could get Kennedy back :tearsofjoy:

Not sure Cripps is $1 mill per season player. If carlton get sucked in to paying that money then they are going to lose a lot of players.
Would you give him $800,000 for 4 or 5 years?

Despite the covid, salary cap will increase by $500-$600,000 a year on average. You then delist 4-5 fringe players on $300,000 a year so that's 1.2-.15 Million dollars Freed up. That means some younger players can get that extra $100-$200,000 a year pay rise.

Hell..... I don't think Carlton lost a lot of players when Judd was on $1 million dollars a year.

If you slip Cripps into Freo's team, they start to look very ominous.. He might not want a huge salary to return home. Carlton is in no man's land at the moment. If Cripps stays and the club sack's Teague (and they probably will) he will have played under 5 coaches in 9 years. That in itself is probably enough for him to start looking elsewhere.

There is no guarantee that any potential new coach like Lyon, Voss, Pike, Sumich or even Worsfold may be supporters of Cripps and the way he plays.
Being captain of Carlton may be enough for him, but somehow I doubt it. The next big concern the Blues is convincing Walsh to stick around. Every club will be going hard after him, especially after seeing the effect that Treloar has had on the Bulldogs midfield.
