I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't mind the silver one. Maybe just make it grey instead of silver (less shiny) and a bit darker, with some navy accents.
Grey and navy go well together.

We wear the navy blue. Blue shorts at home, white shorts away. If we can't wear the blue away because there's a clash then wear the white guernsey.

I'm happy with the Carlton Respects to be the orange socks paired with blue guernsey and shorts as it'll be at our home game.
