As well as ‘like’ , ‘quote’ and ‘reply’ buttons, i wish there was a ‘begin shitfight’ button so that a new pm would start between participants and not clog up threads with petty bullshit
Chief - any chance?

Time remaining in matches would be good
I’m all for having a running count of total interchange rotations used by each team up to that point in the match shown at frequent intervals. After all, if it’s as big a factor in the improvement of the game as a spectacle as we’re being led to believe by our esteemed media, then surely it’s worthy of keeping the viewing audience informed (both live and on the telly) where it’s actually at. Surely it’s just as relevant, if not way more so, than how many kms Nick Vlastuin or Hugh McCluggage have covered so far.

Given it has now seemingly become an important factor towards the end of matches, it could be interesting to have rotations remaining displayed on the TV broadcast next to the scoreboard for the last 10 minutes or so.

So what is the penalty for exceeding the rotations if a player accidentally runs on without knowing or being told ?

I'd guess the same as the penalty for any other illegal interchange infringement, which I think is a free kick from the centre + 50m penalty. And the player who illegally comes on would have to go off again.

Well, well, well.

All quiet on the rule change front and this might be the best start to a football season in the modern era.

The game is free flowing, contests are one on one more often and it's high scoring.

666, man on the mark rule, interchange cap... lots of complaints but what a refreshing start to the season. Count me very much in the pro rule change category on this one.

Not actually sure this is unpopular at all but is it fair to say all bar one of the Saints recruits in recent times were discarded fairly easily by their previous clubs?

Ryder was no longer required at Port and it was a shock when they were prepared to part ways with Dougal Howard, Hannerbury and Jones weren’t being fought for tooth and nail by the swans, Butler was traded for a packet of chips. McKernan was delisted by the Bombers and not much needs to be said about Crouch other than I’m sure that the Crows were happy to see him leave.

The only one they got that the previous club wanted to keep was Brad Hill. The most disappointing recruit they’ve actually got.

Patrick Cripps is overrated.

With the stand the mark rule making a free flowing game they should get rid of the recent rule changes no impact on the game.

This aged well...

Barring McKay's 7 goal haul, Cripps was BOG tonight. 34 touches, 6 marks, 3 tackles, 18 contested possessions, 12 pressure acts, 11 clearances, 10 score involvements, and 2 goals to his name as well.

How many free kicks for?

Liam Ryan's mark last night.

Meh.

Descriptions such as "all-time", "mark of many, many years" "stuns the footy world" and that he has wrapped up MOTY already are a bit over the top and premature. Id back Ryan himself to take a better one than that this year.

Great player and very watchable but meh. A good mark but calm down..

If we're really honest, outside of North Melbourne on the weekend, Fremantle arguably had the weakest midfield on the park.

He's a good and often great player but using this round as your means to judge his form when he's received a grand total of 1 coaches vote in the first two games of the year against midfields like Richmonds and Collingwoods is pushing it a bit.

100% agree.

Was a fantastic mark but by geez is it being blown out of proportion a bit.

He also had 6 clangers, 5 turnovers, 6 frees for - not to mention 12 pressure acts is considered poor.

Really good player Cripps, but he's definitely overrated - both by the media and by Carlton fans. It's his first genuinely good game in a almost a year. Walsh, Jones, Mackay and Fogarty all better than him today too.

Why mention frees for as if its a bad thing?
