The mids will just have to adjust to losing the hit outs now. They need to be proactive not reactive, they should be able to sort it out. Greenwood/Miller are great defensive midfielders so Touk may go back to tagging the oppositions best clearance player.

Burgess for me, Graham to come back into the backline, Corbett into the forward line.

Need height around the ground or else we'll bomb it to no one

Put some money on the blues people
You put money on Blues. They were far from convincing after 10 days break. They looked more tired than us. Definitely beatable in slippery conditions if we bring the pressure and I think we will.

Even sportsbet agrees with me. SUNS $1.78 Blues $2.08

Think they have to play Burgess and Hombsch as ruckman , at least have mature bodies, MacPherson has to be an out for the future for Flanders or Rosa and possibly Brodie for Sharp

If we want to win every game we gotta play best available. If the coaches see Macpherson better than Flanders/Rosas then thats their call. Those boys have to earn their spot.

We called for Brodie to play last year and look how it's turned out now

The problem is MacPherson ain't going to get any better and his disposal probably cost us the game against Adelaide. Am worried about Rosa in particular after watching Pickett last nite . Wasn't much between them in their draft year and Rosa has fallen well behind. If you had a team of MacPhersons they would win the wooden spoon so you have to pull the trigger

A place in the top 8 is up for grabs in this game. That should be enough to motivate the players to give 100% effort for 4 quarters and find a way to win despite the challenges.

Out: Dew

Bloke is the worst coach in the AFL

How do you figure? Guy came on board and got rid of the dead weight who didnt want to be there, created a competitive culture amongst a mix of well drafted and chosen talent and some experience we needed (ie Ellis and Weller ) and trained us into a team who can actually handle the ball, dont drop their heads when they're down and are actually fun to watch.
We are no longer a punchline in the league and are genuinely being taken seriously by other teams... The guy has been brilliant for us. Still work to do but seems to be getting on and doing it

No more honourable losses! Get it done SUNNERS, make a statement to every team in the AFL that we are not easy beats anymore and that any team who faces us must earn the 4 points. Ruckman down or not we can beat Carlton there is no excuses anymore as Dewy said. Play for each other, focus on clean inside 50 entries and don’t bomb it down the line in hopes to packs, play smart, be hard at the ball, be first to the ball and we will get the win.

rumours today is it's 4 weeks but we havent seen a credible source yet
Four weeks would be an amazing outcome when you really think about it. We know we'll be without Witts for the Carlton game so that's just something we'll have to deal with and the next two games after that are against the Dogs and the Swans who we're unlikely to beat even if we're full strength. Then Wittsy possibly comes back into consideration for the Collingwood game, but most likely the the Saints game the following week and those two teams look beatable based on current form.

If we can beat the Blues this weekend then that gives us a win-loss record of 2-2 heading into the Bulldogs game. We likely lose to the Dogs and Swans in consecutive weeks and then Wittsy could come back into consideration for the Pies and Saints games which we should be genuinely circling as potential wins. Win those two games and we're 4-4 heading into the round 9 QClash at Metricon against a Lions outfit that has really struggled this year.

It's not all doom and gloom. Wittsy being out for 4 weeks could work out well for us. By that stage we could also be looking at debuting Elijah Hollands and getting back Rowell a few weeks later. It all starts this weekend though. We must beat the Blues.

In case anyone is wondering, we're the $1.78 favourites with the bookies at the moment.

Carlton/Adelaide-doesn't matter-it's always the Eddie Betts Benefit match when he plays us.Would love to know his average goals vs us over the years

But elite in almost every other category this year
No argument there. But as an inside midfielder he had ample of opportunities to go after Crows midfielders. By the way, I think he was one of better players. Greenwood was easily the best player in my opinion. In general, I think boys were fatigued. The same pattern every quarter - we started well but then in the last 5 min Crows scored on us.
