Kent is not the answer. Do we really miss his 9.5 disposals and 0.7 goals per game? Kicked 2 goals in his last 8 games.

He was playing as a link up player to be fair, he wasn't in the forward pocket. He's a pretty limited player but he might at least have a crack. Guys that can lead hard at the ball and hold their marks are going well in 2021.

No one is saying "Kent is the saviour of the forward line." Nor are they saying "Kent fixes our structural problems". But our "general forwards", Higgins and maybe Battle aside, are struggling to work their way into the games and have a meaningful impact on their outcome. While there are aggravating factors, like our tall structure, ruck injuries and delivery into the forward line, we probably need more than that. And the possible "fan preferred" solutions, perhaps like using players such as Gresham, Billings, Geary or Sinclair in those roles instead, aren't possible because of injury, either directly, or because they're needed elsewhere.

Kent, playing with a mature body, playing with form at the lower level, playing with passion, and playing to secure a new contract, could not only reinforce some messages that Ratten and the staff will be trying to get across (work hard, earn success, overcome difficulties, don't cruise along expecting selections just because of injury situation) but use his own strengths to put the overall team in a better place on the basis of the WAY we've been playing over the first 3 games.

Kent didn’t play on the weekend because he was emerg so will be short of game time.

I was at the game, Bytel played predominantly mid rotating fwd. Against the wind the ball got stuck in their fwd line so the mids obviously were back there and he transitioned out a couple of times. He didn’t play back.

On another note. The 4 players in each 50 for a throw in or kick in is an effing terrible rule. Almost every time 4 players have to do a 70m sprint away from the play, only for the ball to be thrown in and the start jogging back to where they were

If we end up playing Carlisle as #1 ruck, it may be worth seeing if Joyce can man a key post again

It doesn’t look like Ryder will play this week. Hopefully Marshall gets picked and Carlisle plays back. And if I see Coffield playing on Darling I will not be amused.

No one playing for Sandy is going to turn us around.

At the same time we can't let the guys in our 22 continue to stink it up and not put in effort.

What in Gods name is going on with this competition?

22 teams
19 rounds
3 byes per club
16 games per club
Yet Sandy play Richmond, Sydney & Willy all twice (2 Grand Finalists from the last completed VFL season 2019)
And don't play at all - Frankston, GWS, Brisbane, Essendon, Southport, Gold Coast, Casey & North Melbourne (Apart from maybe Casey and possibly Essendon, they would all be ranked in the bottom tier of the competition)

Who comes up with this s**t?

And, according to the fixture I have seen (with official logo etc), God knows where we play home games as neither Moorabbin nor TBO are listed.
It’s like some episode of Lost or The Twilight Zone.

Probably who ever shat on us with the AFL fixturing.

It's going to be an absolute sh*t show if we have more covid cases too. Can't expect part time footballers to go into hubs etc.

They really should have waited another year to do it and do it properly.

I'd prefer we just go back to reserves anyway.

VFL players get * all, they are not doing it for a living, it's pocket money. They wouldn't be able to go into hubs.
